Need A Lift?

After watching and reading my usual round of world news today I needed something to lift my spirits above all the death and destruction, the corruption and deceit, and the social degradation of, well, mostly the western corner of the world. And what better than an inspiring song sung with excellence from a renowned singer, enhanced by a life well lived.

And so it is with great personal pleasure I share once again the beautiful voice of Peng Liyuan, lovingly known as Mama Peng in China, and arguably the most powerful woman in the world. She is, incidentally, also First Lady of China and wife of President Xi.

I don’t need to know the meaning of the words of the song; the music and the voice, the setting and the occasion, do it for me every time.
