Wow! Such a lot of meetings being discussed. And not just on Ukraine but Syria too. Thank goodness Russia plays a crucial role in both situations and is sticking to its guns on important issues relating to the success of such high level events.

Even so, or perhaps resulting from Russia’s strong stance, there is no certainty that any of these meetings will actually take place in the near future, since that would entail remarkable concessional agreements to be cemented in place by other participants.

At this stage I see no readiness to accept such conditions by those who must do so.

It is the same situation with the peace talks between Russia and Japan (not under discussion in the article) – principles stand in the way of agreement. But again, thankfully, Russia is taking the right and noble stand in each case. It is to be hoped, and expected, for that stand to remain strong and uncompromised.
