Is Australia At A Crossroads Today? How Many Others Are Waiting There?

Crossroads? What crossroad would that be?

It is perfectly obvious if you pay any attention at all to global current affairs. To elucidate, politician Andrew Hastie, a leading figure in the Australian government opposition, made the following simple but profound and uncontestable statement…

“The world that we’ve enjoyed for the last 80 years is now gone.”

This is all recently explained, in the ABC News article linked below and which discusses the matter I have raised here.

Albanese supported the ‘rules-based order’ six months ago – ABC news – Mar 5, 2026

Mr Hastie, said to be a growing influence in the conservative side of Australian politics was a losing contender in the Liberal Party’s recent election of a new leader. Both he, and the party generally I suspect, are looking for some point of difference between themselves and the government, following its fairly recent decimation in the last election process. That difference between parties having eroded over recent years as to be now barely distinguishable. Both have been staunch supporters of the US particularly and western interests generally, for many years, giving Australian voters little reason to choose between them. A position hardly surprising since the insertion, decades ago, of CIA/MI6 influence in the nation’s establishment and therefore over government policy.

For these reasons, neither party are likely to really hold firm belief in such drastic change as abandoning the US in the long run. Or is there a deeper current flowing beneath the observable level, which signifies a degrading of those influences? I do not intend burrowing further into those rabbit holes here.

It is, however, my contention and my strong belief that Mr Hastie’s statement is one of observable truth, whether he, or the current government leaders, believe it or not. And I feel supported in that by world opinion in general and by many other similarly enlightened western observers. How so?

Well, there are a number of categories of reasoning already in place, and this list will surely, and perhaps quite rapidly, grow.

The loss of US global dominance – Signaled by its complete inability to achieve compliance by any nation not already under its folder of vassalry in recent times.

The disintegration of social cohesion in western countries – Including Australia, reported daily in news bulletins.

The rise to prominence of developing nations – and many nations in Latin America, Africa, Asia

The coming together of developing nations – Including the BRICS nations, the SCO, etc.,

The growing irrelevance of International Organisations – Such as the Current UN and its many sub-groups

Although the major difficulty and impediment to moving forward with these realignments, especially for Australia, lays not within these important and emerging factors, but in the mindsets of Australian politicians, and possibly many of the nation’s peoples. They perceive that something must change. The death of one paradigm must result in the birth or acknowledgment of another, or result in a period of total chaos. But the image they hold, of the new paradigm, does not in fact merge with any currently existing or emerging one. They still cling, and I’m very sure of this, to some extension – perhaps minus the US – of the current situation. Unfortunately, for them, that is not possible. What is required is a total severance from the old and a humble willingness, without any transfer of whatever power they think they may retain, in joining the new. They no longer hold any such transferable power but must, in all humility, seek the cooperation and acceptance of the new group they wish to align with. Without that and without the dominant hand of the US to guide and control their future, they will fing themselves alone and friendless. The ‘western’ tag must be torn up and discarded. They will be expected to accept they are no longer the leaders they thought they were but one among equals, in order to regain their long lost sovereignty. This may be hard to swallow. Particularly if they still retain the thought that they never lost it. A grand and glorious and humbling awareness awaits their awakening. And there is no point in attempting to form their own new paradigm as some form of leading light. There would be no takers willing to join them, and therefore back to the loneliness of chaos. There is only one way forward to meaningful fulfillment. Join the Multilateral World Order, by whatever name it is known at the time. It will not be hard to find. And a warm welcome among the peaceful and truly sovereign nations of the world, awaits.
