Boy am I glad I had the foresight to vacate and relocate from what I then perceived to be an eventual graveyard some 44 years ago. Where I moved to – Australia – is not in much better shape of course, having botched its only chance to escape the colonialist hell in a failed (built to fail of course, as every attempted escape, other than personal migration, is pre-formatted to do) referendum, held in the final months of last century. Without some form of external rescue, Australia is now doomed to fail, and fall, along with all other old colonialist powers, very soon. And what better time to do that than during the coming first global war of this current century. That, it seems, is the path they all, more or less jointly have chosen. And this time without the support of what is still somewhat jokingly called the ‘United’ States of America. Of course that lack of support will be not counting the massive sales of outdated and second rate weaponry which is all the US can offer or will ever be capable of supplying, while also in limited quantities, due to its own now emerging slide into civilisational collapse.
Wow! A brief pause for me to take a breath while you watch this…
Europe Is Arming Up FAST – Germany, Poland and the UK Accelerate Military Expansion by 2027 – Lena Petrova – Global Affairs in Context – Dec 7, 2025
If at first you don’t succeed… (old saying, new solution) …grow an army.
Sounds fine, except…
We no longer live in the 20th century. The old colonial powers, once seen as the bulldogs of Europe, over the past 80 years, have by design and self-induced shrinkage (noticeably apparent from my own military service throughout the ’70s – when it was almost impossible to catch a career promotion) turned into military chihuahuas, spurred on by the fall of the Soviet Union.
We do live in the 21st century. Though the now impotent and self-satisfied chihuahuas, unaware that times have changed and other nations are now clamouring (and justifiably so) for recognition and respect for their own rights to grow more prosperous and with voices heard in the highest halls of civilisation, to be seen as sovereign equals with the old colonialists.
There is much more detail which I could include here, on ‘The Times, They Are A-Changing’, but this is a blog post not a treatise. And I need to move on.
Make yourself aware that the world we live in now is not the same world you perhaps grew up in. Old ideas, old alignments, are passé. Things are not what they used to be. This generation of colonialist westerners needs to change in order to survive.
So, what are the prospects for those who think, or whose government bodies think they need to ‘grow a new army’?
Those prospects range from Zero to None.
Just take a look at the candidates. Britain, France, Germany, Poland, in the first tier and almost all other European (and NATO) nations lining up behind.
This sickly bunch of would be ‘Russia Raiders’ can offer no significant scare factor to Russia, whose own army is already ready (including hundreds of thousands of fresh troops and equipment set aside for just this possibility) to entertain themselves with the destruction of the NATO/EU ‘heroes’, in short shrift with a style of warfare entirely different to that gentle, ‘baby steps’ one used against Russia’s brothers, trapped in a brutal, western imposed, Nazi culture, in Ukraine. A war which will last not more that a week or two and possibly much shorter than that. In any case, by the time NATO/EU becomes seriously ready to offer any sort of meaningful challenge – unlikely to ever materialise – Ukraine will have been subjected to a thorough cleansing and well tucked in to Russia’s family circle again. And no threat to anyone. NATO/EU plans, with the consequent damage done to their own peoples as a result of the misuse of their tax contributions, will be seen – if in fact, it ever goes that far – as having no rational raison d’etre. In fact those two organisations, with overblown expectations of their own relevance in the modern world, may no longer exist to bring any such plans to fruition.
Notice that I have not mentioned US participation in this disaster in preparation. I think Trump’s administration is now aware that there is no possibility of any kind of victory against Russia, and may even resort to cooperation, pie-in-the-sky as that may sound. We are at a turning point in world order, and the wise will know, by instinct, which way to face the prospect. Cooperation being the only sane consideration.
The expectation of scheming any other scheme, such as involving any thoughts or reliance on ‘supremacy’ and dominance as an alternative, is now utter nonsense.
