Where it leaves him is back at the starting point of the Trump 2.0 era with regard to trading conditions with China. That is pre-tariffs, again according to Simplicius – whom I have no reason to doubt – it being beyond my capabilities or interest to personally fathom.

And it will do him no good to perhaps come into possession of ores (of the rare earth type) from a simple walk-over of a fawning Australia, because to be of any use in what he intends to do with them, mainly military projects I suggest, they must first be processed into useable materials (refined) by China. China being in the driving seat there as the only nation on Earth with the capability to do that with many of them.

I’m sure there is a word to describe such a conundrum, but I can’t put my finger on it just now. But whatever the situation may be called, it does not seem to bear good tidings for Trump’s US, teetering on the edge of a profound collapse precipice.

Little wonder then that Trump appears a little uncomfortable, even sheepish and somewhat lost, in the presence of the Master Statesman Xi Jinping.

I leave you to make what you will of the remainder of Simplicius’ post. It is too far into the Dark Cave of Crypto for my taste, but I can’t see the rest of the world – to whom a large slice of US debt is owed – would stand by and see their dues magically disappeared down that rabbit hole. That thar is ‘skin-em-alive’ territory, or worse.
