Russia Remains Unimpressed and Unpressured by US Antics to Solve Their Own Ukraine Problem

By their nature, Russians find it difficult to be rude or dismissive to the attempts of others to influence, goad or apply pressure on themselves. Not universally so of course, but generally speaking that is not how they operate. Donald Trump on the other hand, and his ilk, tend to operate in very different ways.

‘US will decide in coming days if end to Russia-Ukraine war is ‘doable’, Rubio says’ – ABC News – April 19, 2025 – April 19, 2025

That banner headline is slightly different from the url script for the post, and also from what is generally said in other press reports of this news, meaning some editor or other has whispered ‘make it sound sweeter, more controlled’.

The US, or the parts tha matter militarily, has always known they could not go up against Russia in a shooting war. They would lose badly, and may never get up off the floor again. Nor could they hope to field an army the like of Ukraine’s, which was a useful ruse so that they didn’t have to face the ignominy of having their arse handed to them, themselves. Which is something of a pity – if NATO were included in the deal – but I would not wish the additional cost of achieving that on Russia. They will have done enough, just enough, to achieve their original goals from 2021- which were never in doubt, if they kept their resolve – which they have.

It proved to be a useful ruse for the US, to Ukraine’s immense and perhaps also unrecoverable cost. And one that has brought all Western nations who participated, even unwillingly, to the edge of bankruptcy. While Russia, by excellent management, sails gracefully on, with vastly improved living and trading conditions among the world’s, also improving, Global Majority. And while also sadly celebrating its lost Heroes from this essential, but not of their own making, conflict. So, Russia is thriving, but who would want to go back to living in Ukraine when it is simply a BlackRock minerals mine (nowhere near as big as originally envisaged, if it takes off at all) or a Soy Bean field, following the mining rape. That, of course, assuming Russia allows it to exist at all.

So, it makes no difference whether the US pulls out of the ‘Trump, Day 1’ peace deal. They were never needed in the first place. And Russia has played along with Trump’s charade, never committing to anything other than some perfunctory side deals to their own advantage – like ‘Prisoner Swaps’ and ‘body swaps’, which give the lie to the real ‘Tide of Battle’ and ‘Casualty Figures’.

As for Ukraine, well, on a recent count I read (which I don’t believe), they still have around 800,000 troops in their army. Where are they then? Russia has some 700,000 I believe, for the task of finishing off this shindig in Ukraine – plus many times more, protecting their vast nation in other ways. NATO, with or without the US, can add a few thousand more – for a day or so – to the Ukraine tally. A day or so is as long as they would last. They would be hunted in whatever holes they could find – and there are no holes deep enough for them to hide in from the likes of Oreshnik. Dust to dust, as the say. And since Ukraine is typically bleeding 1,000 casualties per day, that gives them at most 800 days to still compete. But since an attrition level of one third of the force generally leads to a capitulation state in a rational setting (although the Banderite leadership is anything but rational – and they have already had three armies shot from beneath them), that gives them less than a year to continue this folly.

So, ‘dream on’ Western fools, make your little plans, scheme your little schemes, plot your little plots. But know that essentially ‘YOU HAVE LOST’, Shit-heads.
