So, it’s really only ‘make believe’, and the fawning of the US toward Russia is seen more clearly now as a ruse to turn that country doe-eyed toward the new masque of sobriety and fraternity across the Atlantic. And more to do with wooing the Russians away from China, for obvious reasons. A simple enough idea, but impossible of achievement.
A freaked out, Fentanyl addicted lover, incapable both of maintaining ‘normal’ human relations and of balancing their own books, who would want it? Even if it were painted up nicely. Well, brainless, yapping Chihuahuas, perhaps, as others have mentioned. But not Russia, though they are prepared to act on more friendly and cooperative terms with the US, in the interests of a more peaceful global household.
And, anyway, once the bubble has popped (Pepe just popped it), who can not see the US remains inveterate liars. The President, bugles blaring, recently declared (though, in his favour, it may have just been poor advice from his informants) US supremacy over anything China has in Tech and AI fields. A falsehood without doubt. He should broaden his sources a little, and perhaps read this…
‘Why Chinese models are stunning Americans in the tech catwalk’ – Pepe Escobar – Strategic Culture Foundation – Feb 28, 2025 (why has this story taken so long to emerge – published 5 days ago!)
I’m not going to quote passages from this piece, hoping that you have sufficient interest to read it for yourself – if you haven’t done so already. I seem to be a bit behind, but I have been busy.
But I will extract a few interesting facts.
China is at the top of the Global Tech scene and intends to remain there with the introduction of the ‘Made in China 2025’ project, which has seen China rise to the “leadership position in several sectors – from electric vehicles, batteries and solar panels to smart grids and advanced manufacturing.” That actually is a quote from the article linked above. Breakthroughs will also be made this year on production of top semiconductors and aerospace. I know that Russia is also highly advanced in these areas but does not need to trumpet announcements to that effect.
Pepe also reveals that the development of China’s DeepSeek AI was not a product stolen from Silicon Valley, as US sources suggested, but was based on the Soviet developed OGAS system of Academician Glushkov, purchased for $1,500 in 1995.
China has turned this into the backbone of their own DeepSeek system which is far superior to anything the US can claim to have and it did not cost $billions to develop, require vast amounts of costly energy to operate, or require high level Nvidia GPUs to run. DeepSeek, it is claimed, can even be run on a Raspberry Pi (What is a Raspberry Pi?) sold online for around US$40 (basic board) and less than US$80 for a kit (Basic board, box, leads and other stuff).
Ok, here I am going to quote 3 short paragraphs because I don’t have the words to say it any more succinctly myself…
Russia-China scientists have already accelerated scientific computing on conventional Nvidia graphics cards by 800 times, creating a new algorithm using reverse engineering.
That was pulled off by a joint group of scientists from MSU-PPI University in Shenzhen (MSU-BIT University), established in 2014 by Lomonosov Moscow State University and Beijing Polytechnic Institute.
In parallel, researchers using Made in China GPUs have already boosted 10 times their performance over U.S. supercomputers relying on Nvidia hardware.
…making both Russia and China impervious to US tech sanctions.
I will leave it there, even though there is more, much more, for you to read on the SCF site link above.
It is absolutely clear that the US is not an advanced nation in a unique position. It is clearly not even the most advanced tech nation in the world. If they don’t see that in Washington or Silicon Valley, it is not because it is not true, but more to do with the degraded intelligence gathering ability they have, or the deceptive nature of those internal forces which drive that country and their ploy to deceive those appointed to govern it. That is not the world’s fault but something they have to deal with themselves. Can they do that? Or are they happier living within their own pixie-lated visual prison, imagining a great nation while living in a ‘real’, not ‘virtual’ junkyard?
