IPCC Loses Credibility with US Withdrawal of Support Under Trump. Hooray!!

That is actually not a bad thing. Not a bad thing at all. And, in fact the US no longer needs to continue pouring money into the project since the damage for which the IPCC was originally envisaged in the first place has already been achieved – with much of the world now convinced (through continuous lies) that we are in the middle of some form of climate crisis. Nothing, of course, could be further from the truth. So, save your dollars US, you are going to need all of them to dig your nation out of the hole you have made for yourself with profligate military spending which has not been nearly so successful and even was ineffective in producing the desired results and products to achieve its aims (in fact failing badly to even keep up with some other nations who spend far less). It is too late though for even the vast amounts of DOGE cost cutting of US government expenditure to save the nation’s bacon at this point. Not that any of that has anything to do with climate.

Trump Cuts U.S. Scientists Loose from IPCC Report: Climate Juggernaut Takes a Hit – Climate-Science.Press – Feb 23, 2025

IPCC Climate Assessment Reports have been produced on a six or seven year cycle since the organisation’s formation in 1988, the Fifth report forming the basis of the Paris Agreement to which many nation’s subscribed to achieve unrealistic results by 2030. No nation, as far as I know, is anywhere near achieving its own declared goals towards what is considered to be a stable climate through net-zero emissions – which is an impossible situation in any case and would ruin the planet for the sustainment of all life. The sixth report was produced in 2023, I think (didn’t take much notice of it personally). And the next, if it happens at all (with the reduced amount of funding, sans US support) is due in 2029.

The reports, of course, while factually based (supposedly, anyway), are not based on any relevant facts at all. They only deal with changes, sort of annual recent changes, from various recent base situations – never historically greater than say, 150 years into the past, and never quoting any actual temperatures – only anomalies from those supposed base situations. Well, of course, since we are now at the peak of a minor cycle of heating/cooling, which never varies by more than 5-6 degrees Celsius (from peak to trough), will always result in a picture of global warming, possibly for at least a few more years yet, until it inevitably begins to sink back down to the base level 5-6 degrees cooler than we are currently experiencing.

So, what I am saying is, basically, all the generated fuss over a degree or two of rising temperatures is, well… it is all nonsense. Especially when viewed in light of the millions of years, tens of millions of years, hundreds of millions of years, of the best historical data which science can provide, that the planet, our planet, our home, the only one we’ve got, has been on a gradual slide downwards to the same base temperatures as we see in the much shorter and very contained minor variation patterns which have temporarily raised short term temperatures by a couple of degrees in recent times (like, for example, the last 150 years). What, you must ask yourself, is more relevant?

One more fact for you to assimilate. The temporary (I stress that ‘temporary’ nature deliberately – simply because it is) temperature rise of some two degrees over the past 150 years, is the first such period (the previous having occurred some 120,000 years earlier) that anatomically and ‘civilised’ modern humanity has ever experienced – and whatever humanity and other mammalian life was alive at that time got through it more or less unscathed (otherwise we would not be here, would we?). And so, being ‘newbies’ to the experience, we are guaranteed pushovers for anyone interested in clouding our vision through lies and distortions of one kind or another. Well, knowing this, now you can wake up.

Trump, for whatever mistaken reasons his mind has concocted to ban US scientists and US funding from the IPCC, has made the right decision and, in fact, has done the world a great service.
