Life, I mean everyday life, has changed considerably over the past few decades, for one reason and one reason only. Actually there are two reasons, but COVID is not what I want to talk about today. Have you ever considered what are the actual benefits from or even the real reasons behind the multitude of changes brought into existence as a result of the Climate policy of national governments and international institutions like the UN and all their various offshoots at all levels?
Going back a few more decades there are more changes, such as food production and the industrial use of fresh water. I don’t want to go too far along this road as it represents a diversion from my current topic, but I do want to point out the fact that most people of the world now – the young and the active – may not realise the immensity of the changes the human population has absorbed into its daily life, and even some, perhaps all, of my own children do not recognise life today as being any different from the time when I was young and active. But when you think about it there is little that remains of what life consisted of just one generation ago. And is there an essential field of endeavour where those changes have been beneficial to humanity? I would say not. Communication, perhaps, but such is not considered essential to life. Although I know that people today would argue differently and even I would miss it hugely. And this shows the essence of life has been overthrown for convenience, and not much more than that. But at what cost? A largely (and growing) sick, mentally sick, physically sick, society which has lost all the finer points of what makes us human and which is mostly held together by a regime of legally administered drugs, a dearth of real education and, drained of all real emotion, a mindset born from constant impelling and inescapable sound messages. What’s the point?
End of digression, back to the subject…
Here is what the clear thinking (it is still possible and can be revealed by searching) at Real Clear Energy has to say about what I wanted to say. It is not exactly what I would say (a bit too US focused), but close enough. I guess I don’t need to say any more. I probably said too much already.
