This situation is nothing new. It has happened a number of times before over the past few million years. And the last time it happened – 120,000 years ago, and long before any of our ancient ancestors (there was little sign of any modern humans back then) achieved what we call civilisation, the temperature peak (measured as Global Mean Surface Temperature by today’s scientists at around 16°C) was several degrees higher than it is today at around 14.5°C. We have uncovered no records of mass panic among whatever human or animal species were living under those conditions back then. Nobody was trying to reach ‘Net Zero’ CO2 or curbing their carbon emissions in any way. And yet all or most species survived. There are always a certain number of species dying off all the time. Not only was there survival but, after the peak was reached, conditions began to cool, and they cooled quite a bit. Down, in fact, to the coolest Earth mean temperatures the planet has ever experienced (in the past half billion years). Somewhere in the region of 9-10°C GMST.
I cannot find any valid reason (and belief systems based around climate modelling do not count as valid) why we should expect anything different to happen this time.
These cyclical temperature rises, occurring every 120,000 years or so (and only in recent timeframe – a few million years), sometimes with weaker attempts to raise temperatures in between, are an aberration against the overarching and much longer established global trend towards a general cooling of the planet, which has been ongoing for at least 60 million years and arguably for much longer than that, which by far overrides these much weaker cycles in importance.
The world of mankind needs to get over the falseness of modern climate doctrine, which has no validity whatsoever in reality, and begin to grasp the real truth of our climate progression. That will not be a difficult thing to do quite soon. The heat peak is just about over and a growing coldness will soon be felt by all residents of Earth. Actually not by all Earthlings. The planet has never been covered in ice, as some suggest. There are always places to go, where temperatures will still be mild to warm. And those places will gradually fill due to migrations of both humans and other fauna. If you think your country has migration problems now, just wait a few more decades or centuries to see what real migrations look like.
Just to add some figures to those facts, the Earth’s GMST, as a long term trend, currently stands at a little under 12°C. The quoted 14.5°C is correct for annual GMST and that is because, in annual terms, we are on a rising temperature scale (albeit only temporarily) as the fluctuations above and below trend rise and fall. They will not rise much further and will then fall to something a few degrees below the lowest trend value of 9-10°C – while the trend stays much the same as it has been for the past several millions of years. That trend will eventually pick up into a slight rising arc, again over millions of years and is expected to reach somewhere in the region of 30°C (but much further away than humanity may ever have to worry about). And whatever dominant creatures eventually replace us, they will have ample time to adapt to the warmer conditions. There will be no remaining ice-caps by then. They will have melted about half way to that planetary peak. That 30°C is the hottest GMST trend our planet has ever faced (and it has done that several times over the past half billion years).
I am always aware that whatever I write on this subject, and it is all factually based on true science, to which any real Earth scientist will readily attest, what I write can never tell the whole story. Leaving gaps for the interested to fill themselves by further study or for others to use as reasons to doubt every word.
I can only point you in the right direction. Whether you go there or not is entirely up to you.
If you have fallen foul of the Climate Catastrophe meme so prevalent today, you have much to learn. I have laid out what I know in many posts here since around June 2023. They may guide you, if you let them.
