Did you know…? That’s how my 5 year old grandson always begins his questions. Full of information, that kid, I’m glad to hear.
Did you know…? Well you probably would if you were as old as me.
Did you know…? That 2 years and 364 days before I was born… it would be back in March 1942 – a time of world war – that the US authorities determined it would be expedient to incarcerate, in detention facilities, all Japanese-American citizens living in the United States. I suppose they were that at that time – ‘united’, I mean. Not so much now. Encyclopedia Britannica has this to say on that situation (image right – click or touch for link)…
I thought I would just point this out since I guess most ‘Americans’ would not now be aware of the case. It is not something they could justifiably be proud to teach in schools, is it? Or maybe it is.
Anyway, the main point… Why are there so many Russians now living in the US? Have they no sense of the history of that nation? Do they expect to be left untouched if a real war breaks out, involving US and Russian forces? And, by that I mean both sides fighting openly, not the US sniping from behind human shields or in deep bunkers (neither of which would protect them).
