Of course there are no rhymes, repeated or not, tunes, or even jingles associated with this piece, the sole objective of which – as far as I can make out – is to analyse why I have suddenly lost interest in writing or commenting on the apparently mediocre world in which I find myself situated.
There are no external links in this piece. At least I did not set out initially to include any. I wanted this to be, if in fact I wanted it to be anything at all, an exploration of my own thoughts. Isn’t that what blogging is generally meant to be about?
But who, if anyone, today has any of their ‘own thoughts’? We are bombarded with the thoughts of others from every side? Voices, all clamouring for our attention, and perhaps even ‘especially’ for diverting our attention by flooding our minds with irrelevances and either soothing or disturbing lies or a mixture of both. That is the sole purpose of ‘news’ services today, as is almost 100% of social commentary. At least that is the situation within the western sphere of influence.
And even voices which are nominally out there providing an alternative narrative, such as Tucker Carlson, Douglas McGregor, and others, none of which can be trusted, are merely there to provide further distraction from what really matters. How are we, or to be more direct – ‘you’ – since I believe I am immune from such things, that I cannot be deceived even for an instant by the bullshit from any direction, going to recognise the truth if and when it reaches our cognitive receptors?
I am not infallible of course and it sometimes does take a while for me to see the often camouflaged warning signs and hints of less than pure motives or initiatives. But once seen and checked, I can never again be fooled, no matter the community standing of the deceiver.
But today is a new day, as I once again take to my keyboard now. I have been listening to and watching one particular voice on a number of different commentary platforms for some time now. And this has become the only voice I can now fully trust – unless it changes of course, but I don’t think it will. Every word that comes from this commenters mouth resonates with my own personal thoughts. And what is so wonderful about this (making it worthy of my open praise here) is that it is not a singularly focused line of opinion but a more rounded and, in a sense, a more complete picture or world-view with which I have no argument whatsoever. What makes it so is that he has been criticised by other owners who have more narrowly focussed views at times over recent years. That is a quite revealing circumstance in itself.
Ok, I am now focussing this wandering thought stream and reversing my declared intent to not include any external links. I do this now because the situation demands it. The person I am talking about is the broadly experienced commenter, Scott Ritter, acknowledged significantly by the right people on both sides of the East-West divide as a true expert in the events which shape our modern world. He is an ‘American’ in all the senses of that word, and one who actually sees the big picture in all its diverse colourings. In my view, he is the only fully trustworthy voice pluckable from the cacophony of voice thrust across the media landscape and of any real value today. He appears almost daily now on a number of useful broadcasts, and I have almost chosen several instances recently to share but I could not go past this one appearing today. To me, because of its content this is both invigorating and heartwarming stuff. I hope you find it useful too. This is exactly what the world needs to hear and on which it should be focused.
I will just add one word in comment. I am not entirely sure of the motives of Nima Alkhorshid, a Brazilian I believe and the shows host. He asks the right questions, providing uninterrupted space for his guests views, but the questions are phrased in ways which raise issues in my mind. Scott Ritter satisfactorily handles those issues himself and Nima appears unphazed by that, so perhaps this is just in my perception.
I feel a little lighter now I have gotten all that off my chest. But I still do not intend to write much in the immediate future until there is something important to write about. My current view of the world is that everything is going well. The things we are seeing are that which is meant to be seen. The west is ailing and failing and will continue to do so until they are no longer of importance in world affairs. Perhaps they will then regain some sense. The global south is rising and coming together as a model for future humanity – free from western oppression. Yes, there will be difficult times but, in general, everything will work out for the best. The world of humanity will come to see there is no need to fear the naturally changing climate cycles or diminishing natural resources, and will learn not to punish themselves for imaginary consequences of being and living, in harmony with the natural world. Just wait and see.
