From what is known in the west as the I Ching, in Chinese – Zhou Yi, or The Book of Changes, comes a passage which boils down to ‘Embracing the world with virtue’. Which means, well, I will let the article associated with this video explain that…

I came across this video only today but I thought it would make a needed and nice contrast to my previous post titled (‘American’ Epic) which dealt with all the embedded nastiness in the world.
Any living body which has been affected by, for example – cancer, must be treated, and the cancer either cut out or by some means destroyed in order for the body, if it is possible, to continue to function, including those parts of the body directly impacted by the disease, whenever possible. I hope that, given this little homily, it is easier to see now what I meant (and always mean) when speaking of the destruction of the west (which I often do) that it is only the removal of an idea, in this case ‘America’ which needs to go. People are just as precious as all of us are, wherever they come from.
I think those thoughts can be embodied into the Chinese philosophy of ‘Embracing the world with virtue’.
I also hope this will serve as a means of more broadly understanding what China is all about in its opening and reaching out to the world this century. The distrust of western folk for China’s motives springs only from the narrow viewpoint with which they have been indoctrinated for centuries. With those ideas removed and replaced by a clearer vision, it will be realised that China’s way is both honourable and the right way for humanity to live and exist together. This is essentially what now drives the global majority to come together at this time – for mutual benefit and peaceful coexistence.
Russia is of course an essential part of that drive also. Russia, I suppose, can be viewed in this light as the ‘cutting edge’ of the process.
