Australia’s ABC News has an open online Live Feed blog covering the (said to be) important events, nominally expressed as ‘negotiations’, going on in Pakistan between US and Iran. When the ABC speaks of ‘Today so far’, of course they mean the Aussie ‘day’, which is about half a day slippage from that of most other Western audiences.
Aside from the only expected results, literally nothing or in finer detail ‘no agreement reached’, the Aussie Foreign Minister jumps in with the only possible idea she is capable of expressing, that…
“We continue to want to see a swift resolution to this conflict. Any escalation in the conflict would impose an even greater human cost and further impact the global economy.”
…as if any of that (I would say CIA dictated script) were even remotely important in the current situation. This represents, of course, a failure of ideation to even understand those truly important issues which have led to the current impasse. It is also, of course, a disease common to and prevalent among all Western governments – who must all, as a bloc, eventually come to acknowledge and accept. What must they accept? That the only way out of the muddle they alone have gotten themselves into, is to accept in full – and activate to address – every single one of Iran’s 10 stated demands. In other, perhaps simpler words for them to understand, a complete capitulation to those demands.
So, what is preventing that from happening? It is a simple matter really. They have no understanding whatsoever, none of them, as to the dangers they face in not accepting that position. They still dream that they are in charge of world affairs. Not realising that they have been left behind in the dust of progress made by the Global Majority (perhaps it is slowly turning into a nightmare for them). They are fed by the delusions of trump of course, but he is not the only or perhaps even the major influence. It is a deep-seated and firmly rooted ‘supremacy’ disorder, which may have held for an historically short period, but one that has shaped the attitudes of even current generations. That means it may be quite difficult to unseat from modern minds. The kind of shock treatment which would ensure that change is also not conducive to the continued existence of Western livestock. But failure to apply such – or similar – treatment would also prove detrimental to the continued existence – or at least the freedom – of the Global Majority of humanity. This, I recognise – and I suspect I am not the only one who does so – is something of a dilemma for the whole of our species, and indeed for the whole of life on our planet. Something has to give. I believe it must be the West which acknowledges the new reality and becomes willing to take a seat of equality and cooperation with the rest of the world, relinquishing all thought of domination or leadership, and of even interference or rectification.
But of course, I am only one vote out of more than 8 billion, most of whom – including myself – never get to have a say in what goes on in our name. Democracy? It’s a joke – a bad one.
