Russia will not in any way act to cause a dilution of that relationship under any kind of pressure from the US just because the US is feeling isolated and in a weakened position on the issue of nuclear weapons and the evident loosening of their grip on the kind of hegemony they long enjoyed in earlier times.
They are isolated of course and every single one of their ‘allies’ in general disarray over both the same issues of a military nature – necessitating their adventures into the realm of clandestine terrorism – and also the more economic side of national existence. Those things are now abundantly clear, whether they, the nations of the West, can openly admit the facts at this point in time or not. That stubborn unwillingness of their leaders to admit the reality of their dire situation and to acknowledge this as being due mainly to their own past attitudes and actions, may result in the downfall of a number of them and a period of distressed existence for their peoples.
The West is no longer in a position to write their own version of history, nor to plan their own future. And unless they can find a means to alter their course and become more agreeable and acceptable citizens of the human community, leaving behind the bullying (now no longer an option for them) and the self-elevated attitude they have long assumed to be their rightful position over others (which will also no longer be tolerated), they will find themselves poorly remembered by history and with little or no future prospects as members of that community. That would be a truly lonely place to exist.
