So you see that a matter to which is (or was) ascribed great importance until, well… not very long ago – and many people (knowing no better) would still be believing such importance is to be viewed as factual. This (the watering down of 2040 climate targets) must be very disturbing news to those folk. Why is this happening when we haven’t even got to 2030 yet? That question is simply answered, and I think most people would already know this, that there are few , if any, world nations who are going to reach even anywhere close to those upcoming targets so fervently promised to do back in… 2020 was it? I can’t remember. Not having had much interest in impositions from above by highfalutin nonentities of pretentious authority.
No. It was never really proven necessary, was it? Not by science. Science knows better. And yet they – those highfalutin nonentities claimed to be following ‘the science’ – that epithet screamed at us from every pronouncement in their program of propaganda on the subject. But it wasn’t ‘real’ science they were following, was it? Not the sort of science which gets out and about measuring and recording things over and over again until they are sure they measured those things right, and designing proofs for why those things are the way they are, given the known ways the natural world is. No, not that science, the science which can be more or less trusted – though we know that some things, perhaps everything, changes over time. In these days of shortcuts and fast decisions there isn’t time for that sort of work – which was one reason for why the Covid response debacle was such a cock-up, killing and injuring millions. No. So they decided to utilise modern technology instead and built computer models to give themselves the answers they wanted, to satisfy their own view of the world, stirred up in a sort of witches cauldron sciencey GIGO (Garbage In : Garbage Out) kind of dance. Making up the rules as they went along, resulting in the creation of Climate Models. How sweet it sounds. How technical. How authoritative and official. How adjustable. How satisfying. How applicable. And that is how we have been taught to accept what ‘the science’ tells us. Most folk, which means even most governments and businesses eventually succumbing to the glorified falseness of the findings with glorified dumbness and acceptance, until it is almost a sin against ‘science’ to hold alternative ideas based solely on the real science.
Well, we have almost come full circle in recent days, and the lights are coming back on. Revealing the grimy results of climate action in all of its splendid mediocrity and waste. Not to mention the dangerous brink of annihilation of all life it almost led us towards in a carbonless world of dying carbon based life forms.
But we must now be quick, now that the harm is being recognised, to bring the climate action train to a full halt. Parking it in some dark forgotten tunnel where it can be used in future to teach our descendants how stupid we once were and how close we came to self-extinction through our own folly.
