There is not a single Western nation which could make such a declaration with even a modest degree of honesty. But Russia can. And I am personally convinced that China also can. There may be a few other non-Western nations of whom that could be said, but none, I believe, other than today’s Russia who have actually declared that as even a hope, dream, wish, or policy. Xi’s China may have done so, less directly, I can grant them that. No-one else, to my knowledge, and none quite so believably sincere or trustworthy as Russia. Russia actually ‘wants’ to do this, according to their President, speaking on this the Russian National Unity Day.
Russia wants to maintain friendly relations with all world nations — Putin – TASS – Nov 5, 2025
I wonder how many Western nation, in particular, can on (choose any day) celebrate a day of National Unity. A big fat zero, I reckon. But Russia can. The day was inaugurated by President Putin (with prescient vision) in 2005, and the reasons behind that represent a long and bloody story and immense struggles to nationhood. Someone has written that story, published today on RT (actually yesterday, three years ago, as I write – and, as I now recall, I may have used this story before). Read it here…
The ‘Time of Troubles’ and the birth of the nation: Why Russia celebrates its ‘Unity Day’ every November 4 – RT – Nov 4, 2025
…and marvel at the peoples of the story as each step took them from relative obscurity, led them through cauldron’s of fire, and brought them to a position among the world’s future leading nations today while retaining their humanity, not a conquering or abusing spirit, but one of attitudes of kinship and friendship with all nations on Earth. That is quite remarkable.
Yet they are still abused and threats made to destroy them by the unruly and culturally insignificant tribes of the West. It will not happen. If the West can only seek death and destruction, it will be theirs, alone.
