I am sharing this YouTube video, not just because I am still a huge fan of ex-PM Paul Keating but because it represents a truthful picture of how my country should be behaving and operating in today’s world. As messed up as that world may currently be. He is a man of competent thought and great integrity, more than a match for any journalistic quiz show, and one who did not get a fair crack at being a national leader during his short time at the helm.
His age, like mine also, is beginning to tell, and he sometimes gets locational things a little mixed up – which happens to many people while vocalising their thoughts. But there is nothing wrong with his logic on any of the aspects of paramount importance covered in this interview. This is not just about a well isolated and insulated island nation, sitting off the edge of the great Asian land-mass, but carries within it matters of interest for all nations of the world.
I think you will find it to be both entertaining and illustrative, as well as sensible and heart-warming that there are still people around with sound enough minds to view the world situation in proper light, as I did. While also noting that few, if any, of those people are working at the coal-face of modern journalism.
