Who, these days, has time – or interest – in that?
Warning: THIS IS, I guess, A RANT
Not the Western folk, oh no. All their time is spent in scheming up diverse acts of self-harm, built on their inbred hatred of all things non-West. Especially Russia and China, and Iran, and North Korea, and all non-Israel supporters, and Cuba, and Venezuela, and pretty much everybody else. They even hate themselves, and are busily fighting and intimidating and imprisoning their own peoples and political opponents. You only have to take a glance at their news services. Not a thought about tomorrow in sight. And that’s every tomorrow, every day. It becomes monotonous, and boring. I turned off from reading and watching western news, long ago. Except for brief glances to check headlines for any glimmer of change. But there never is anything to give even the dimmest of hope. Maybe they no longer believe in a future for themselves. Which is a good starting point. But also a good end point to progress, leading to a spiralling down to a state of despair, desolation and derangement (and perhaps a handful of several other de- words). I’m not sure they know that is where they are headed, and that is where they are headed. Some must know that, and they are leaving (if they can) for other, more rational locales, before the inevitable crash.
I saw this beginning to happen some 44 years ago and made a move. I’m not sure, right now, that I moved far enough. I have lived a good and reasonably secure life since then, in Australia, a particularly dull global backwater way back in the ’80s of last century. But one which, aided by its vast natural resources, and never having been able to throw off the shackles of its colonial past, has seen itself (I have never quite grasped why) as some sort of ‘mover and shaker’ in the South Pacific region and even beyond. A huge mistake, because instead of integrating as a partner into that region and the huge neighboring Asia region, has chosen to view the major, and fast growing nations which, by trading partnerships, could have been seen as friends rather than obstacles to prosperity and has retained (after one predestined feeble failed attempt to become an independent republic) the old inbred notion of colonial dominance with regard to the smaller of those neighbours. The stupidity of which attitude, appears to have gone unnoticed in all subsequent government planning.
So, the world cannot look to the West any longer, for leadership or direction. The Western world is at a dead-end. It is clear that has not yet sunk in deeply to the western psyche. It soon will. And that could lead to one of two things. A growing spiral of despair and a closing off of links to the greater and booming world, or, alternatively, to a lashing out at that world in a desperate attempt to declare: ‘We are not going down alone’. The one needs to be ignored and a helping hand given to whatever eventually emerges from that ‘Slough of Despond’, while the other must be carefully watched for and dealt with before it happens, hopefully leading to ‘One More Time to Live’.
Enough of that dreary image. Let the west go its own way, if they so choose. The rest of the world no longer needs to fear such a separation. Because much of the Non-West already has plans for a healthy, safe and fruitful future, and is even now pursuing construction of that future. Sensible Westerners are even now leaving those countries to set up a new life and a more hopeful future for themselves in other lands. And it does not particularly matter where. When all nations are treated equally as sovereign states, free from oppression by the West, upcoming climate considerations must also be taken into account. Not really for our generation. But our descendants – far into the future – may thank us for settling in a warmer place before it becomes necessary. ‘Tropical’ needs to become ‘topical’, because those warmer regions never change much in ambient temperatures no matter the general climate in other areas. And the majority of Earth’s major land masses have some overland access to equatorial regions. That is a word to the wise. The next move of climate is toward colder times for deep Northern and Southern latitudes. The current ice-age has not yet bottomed out.
But, to even more important matters. Who is doing the important thinking and maneuvering in preparation for the future now that the once considered more seminal part of humanity – the West – has given up such exhausting practice for the more lax forms of personal entertainment, lewd pastimes and self-preening? Well, many ancient civilisations and especially Russia, which has advanced rapidly over the last three decades or so to become a leading innovator in all aspects of social and technical engineering. Particularly, and thankfully so, in the arena of military technology, to the point where it has the West cowed now (at least those parts which retain sufficient brain power to understand the situation), defensively, unable to budge or deter Russia from completing her clean sweeping of ‘Nazi NATO Nasties’ (whom she has taken on, and beaten, almost single handedly) from the lands of Eastern Europe – and if necessary (depending on what the West does from here on in), from Western Europe also.
But those matters are but a temporary interlude – not really an ‘interlude’ but more of a slightly disruptive ‘distraction’ – from the more important work of future-building, or ‘inventing’ if you like. That is the main game now. Even though the ‘distraction’ may yet build significantly, depending on how quietly the west may go into its shutdown and isolation period.
This year, for the second year running, Russia has hosted an International Symposium: ‘Inventing the Future’, in Moscow. A two day event which closed on, I think, October 8 and attended by interested parties from many nations around the world, including from the West. Check these links…
II International Symposium INVENTING THE FUTURE
‘Inventing the Future’ International Symposium concludes in Moscow – RT – October 10, 2025
I will not comment further, there is enough relevant information there, plus more that a simple search will reveal, for those interested.
I just wanted to point out that the right people are out there, looking out for your and my future, while the West huddles in the foetal position, sucking its thumb, and complaining about lost, and worthless, Peace Prizes and other such FlimFlamish (a word previously used by only one other blogger) trivia.
There are other things in which Russia and many other nations are deeply and currently involved, which centre around regional groupings of nations which are gradually expanding their spheres of influence to broader areas as neighbours, near or far, express interest in taking part in the group for mutual benefit. Those are very good signs for moving toward a future world. Cooperation between nations. Joint projects involving interaction between nations. This enables those nations which may have not had opportunities for growth in earlier times and nothing of the kind is ever seen happening with western nations. They only act in their own interests primarily.
Everyone I think knows about the BRICS+ expanded grouping of recent years. ASEAN and the SCO have very recently also engaged in new ventures. But it was only this week that the CIS group of nations – the remaining family relationships of the prior Soviet block – have announced their own CIS+ expansion to include non-family members. All of these things are good news stories. There are others, including more to come this year and next on the Russia-Africa Forum and Summit, and all of these moves together are entirely conducted in spite of western attempts to disrupt or slow down the gathering together of Non-Western nations. However, those moves among world majority nations are now as unstoppable as is the disintegration of the West.
The rant ends here but the story goes on, gathering strength over time. Better take note. It will effect you, one way or another.
Final word: There is actually another future thinking effort going on, apart from the Russian initiative. It is called The Future Forum. Its centric, in fact ‘sole’ interest, is in the future of New York.
Has anyone reading this, any interest at all in the future of New York?
