Australia is the only country in the world that occupies an entire continent and is one of the few sovereign nations without land neighbors, enjoying a unique geographical advantage that could allow it to focus on its own development with a detached stance. However, as one of the Five Eyes Alliance countries, Australia’s intelligence agencies often take the initiative to get involved in great-power conflicts and assist certain countries in global intelligence-gathering activities, which is off-putting and unwelcome.

The claims that China somehow poses an unwarranted and dangerous ‘espionage threat’ to Australia, only – “… expose Australia’s ‘over-anxiety’ about its own security,” – and such thoughts do not enhance Australia’s recently renewed desires toward advancing and improving China-Australia relations.
It is time to ‘grow-up’ Australia. Leave behind the worn-out tendencies of your old established ‘intelligence’ communities, generating only suspicion and doubt toward your major trading partner and a loss of moral standing in the international community.
A new world is emerging. Be part of it.
It is a much bigger, more cooperative, and fair world, of far greater influence, trust, and security than the one to which you currently and stubbornly cling.
Ignore this, and die alongside your current, fast decaying Western partners, who may or may not be capable of rescue at this point. A productive and more vibrant future among many equal partners of the global majority, seeking the same goals and with no demands on your sovereignty or relinquishing of their own, awaits your decision.
