The 45th and 47th US President has set himself up for yet another impeachment process, which could end his tenure, on the basis of him acting without the authority of the US Congress – or so I understand.
I mentioned a day or so ago that the destruction of Iran’s Fordow nuclear facility – which has incidentally been completely cleared of activity recently, to some other similar facility a number of which are said to be scattered across the vast mountainous regions of that country (they are not fools) – could not be accomplished by the GBU-57 Bunker-Buster bombs of the US. At least a lucky shot of 1 or 2 of those bombs would be unlikely to succeed. The updated version of the article below now states that six B2 bombers, each carrying two such bombs, were used in the attack. That is a total of 12 x 30,000 lb munitions. If true, could such an attack be successful? That is six times the luck of a two bomb attack.
American B-2 Stealth Bombers Strike Iran’s Best Fortified Nuclear Site as U.S. Fully Joins the War (Updated) – Military Watch Magazine – June 21, 2025
There has been an uncanny dearth of information on the results of this illegal strike up to this point on June 22, the day after the attack – apart from the loud, videoed trumpetings of the Trumpster. I wonder why that virtual silence has erupted. Is the world in shock?
And yet this same article mentions that “…while Iranian state media has stated that the attack only succeeded in damaging two tunnels around the facility.” This, I have just seen, is repeated by a report in Tasnim News saying – “Manan Raeisi, a lawmaker representing the city of Qom in the Iranian Parliament, told Tasnim News that the attack caused only surface-level damage at Fordow. “Despite the lies of America’s deceitful president, critical infrastructure remains intact. What was hit was mostly on the ground and fully restorable,” he stated.”
Ok, let’s try to pin down some numbers on what this all means.
First the bombs – the GBU-57 – it is difficult to gat an exact number on how many of these the US possesses. Some say 15, some say 17, some say up to 20 of these things were made (which presumably also means thay can’t make any more – since it is based on some obsolete parts, including the external body of the thing). So, taking the worst case and knowing that at least one of them was used in Afghanistan (I think), if 12 were used yesterday. That leaves only seven remaining bombs. Not much of an arsenal, is it? And if Iran’s nuclear operation pops up again somewhere else under a mountain, Then what?
There is further analysis, but I have lost interest now. This is obviously just another US blowhard venture, and will eventually form part of their, and with that the combined West’s, undoing.
Iran will emerge from this intact, while any who oppose the obvious rightful nature of the struggle will end up figuratively diced. A new, cooperative and peaceful world will undoubtedly result – with or without a highly reformed West.
