Only in America!
Trump does not deserve all the attention I appear to be giving him just now, but it cannot be denied that whatever the reasons for the situation, that buffoon (or bumpkin – take your pick) is undoubtedly a fulcrumatic influence [that means ‘takes a pivotal role’] at centre stage in the international affairs of mankind. My posts are nothing if not at least a little bit educational.
I guess I see two separate entities here. There is ‘mankind’ (the you and me and everyone else), and there is also ‘Trump’ – who rightly should be one of the ‘us’ but who has somehow become detached from ‘us’ and become something of a wildcard buzzing around haphazardly, yet inside the same container and causing chaos and potential destruction. How on Earth could that have come about? If that is an act of God, then it is a very perverse God that has lost its grip on the control levers of our reality. But we know, of course, the cause is no such thing. It is entirely our own doing. We built the systems which now control us. And we can’t entirely lay that on our ancestors. They would not, even in recent generations, have dreamed of such events as those which now confront us. That means it must be mostly us who are the cause. Mankind has always been fairly level-headed. Inept, perhaps, and always dishonestly plotting and scheming, but always level-headed. I agree the results of these character flaws may have been building up over more recent history as there has been increasingly more to to be gained or lost by individuals or entities lacking in scruples, and maybe this effect has now, in our time, reached a crescendo of ineptitude, plots and schemes – all of which merge into a zeitgeist of almost pure evil and corruption, bursting out at and precipitating the culminating and eliminating of something once held precious and inviolable. We had better hope it is not ourselves who are in line for elimination, our progress having culminated.
That’s really all I have to say, except that the inspiration for this post is a comment I read (I don’t often read comments, but this is a blinder – the reality being found in the quote: “…this world is not his to sell and he does not understand this”) in response to yet another Andrew Ryabko piece. I will include the comment here as a linked image, from which you can also view the related article ‘The Brits & Ukrainians Are Plotting To Manipulate Trump Into Escalating Against Russia’…
