What Science Can Tell Us Truthfully About Global Warming in the Period of Human Civilisation

Now, I am not saying that Science does not always tell us the truth. True science unfunded by parochial interests, does always tell the truth – as far as can be ascertained from the known science at the time and under what budget constraints it may have had to work within. That, I think can be taken as a general given, with the proviso that all men (and women) of science, and particularly members of scientific bodies, are corruptible – in the right circumstances. Which is where funding by unscrupulous parties comes into play. But generally, the science itself, is incorruptible. The same cannot be said of testing results or the design of experiments used in proofs. And this applies to all levels of the scientific community, I believe. Especially the higher ones. Among the lower levels there is still a fervent instinct covering the scientific process, I believe, and an unsullied adherence to ‘discovery’ for the sake of good science.

So, with that in mind, what do we have here?

A new and quite recent study, published in early April this year and reported in I’m sure many pro-climate blogs. Here is one such account…

New Study: Europe Was ‘Not Only Warmer But Also Wetter During Most Of The Pre-Industrial Holocene’ – Pierre L. Gosselin – NoTricksZone – June 6, 2025

…in which the author talks about how the world reached peak warming (relative to only the last 12,000 years – it having been much, much warmer in prior ages) occurring at around 10,000 years ago. He references a rigorous scientific study, published April 2025, with a link. I repeat that link here…

‘Tree-ring stable isotopes from the European Alps reveal long-term summer drying over the Holocene’ – A Science Advances, Research Article, under Climatology – Published April 4, 2025

This is something I only recently discovered myself while taking a closer look at this most recent warming period beginning ~17,000 years ago – the period we call the Holocene – global temperatures climbing out of the Younger Dryas Glacial Period (from around 9-10°C GMST) to rise by some 5-6°C – the bulk of that warming occurring over 5,000 years to ~12,000 years ago and peaking at something less than 1°C warmer than the current level of ~14.5°C, some 8-9,000 years ago. I wrote about that subject here: A Look At The Holocene – In Search of Peak Warming – March 25, 2025.

So, this new study is simply more confirmation that, aside from a few minor bumps of less than 1°C, the world climate temperature has been plateauing for 12,000 years, teetering on the edge of a precipice from which it is about to fall, falling slowly, back down to where it was – looking backward to those conditions where the cycle began, ~17,000 years ago.

Whatever happens during that fall, is no business of ours. “Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof,” and the evil of our own times, whether or not any of our own doing, should be the limit of our own concern. Only when we can let go and free ourselves of other concerns, will we have learned to live.

“Something There Outside, Says You’re Only
In the Hands of Time, Falling Slowly
It’s There For Us to Know
With Love That We Can Go
Burn Slowly the Candle of Life”
– Candle of Life – Moody Blues

It all seems so very simple to me – and obviously a growing number of others – that there is nothing on Earth (not counting that vast arena beyond our skies which we can only, possibly ever, study through telescopes or remote instruments) which can turn that state of being into something more complex or dangerous. So, be at peace with yourself.

“You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.” – Desiderata (Max Ehrmann)

Well, that’s enough from me to be going on with. A brand new study to investigate. One that entirely debunks the current global warming hysteria as the idea of kranks and ne’er-do-wells who’s only wish is to blind the public to the truth of scientific discipline and discovery.
