Australia’s Fatal Decision

Australia’s government position on the geo-political spectrum has always been laughable. Harking back to mid-century (last century) thinking, based on an old boys network in a world that long ago realised that ‘old boys’ clubs never really worked for good outcomes and always ended up fighting wars for no good reason. Australia’s position has developed now, from merely laughable to outright ridiculous. It is enough to make a grown-up man shed tears, of frustration and pain over what might have been possible in other worlds.

For far too long we have been on the wrong side. That might have been largely unseen in earlier times, due to the warm glow of friendship with what seemed to be telling the world it was the Number 1, supremo, top of the class, prime candidate for global imperialist leader, backed by our continued warm and fuzzy family relationship within the Commonwealth of Nations – from mid century relegated to junior partner status, but still accepted as Ally to the World Leader.

It is now obvious that was always mostly Theatre, Dress Rehearsal, Bluff and Bluster. And by a long and arduous journey from Myth to Reality (of some form), though still minus a large amount of Clarity, we have come to be able to say (reluctantly, I would say) that…

‘Richard Marles warns Australia cannot rely on US alone to counter Chinese military build-up’ – ABC News Online – May 31, 2025.

I don’t recommend you read any of that, unless you feel you must. It is just a doleful mish-mash of excuses for the situation, coupled with a string of lies about the supposed opposition, and no solutions. Not even a suggestion of who we should turn to for new ‘warm and cuddly’ buddies.

Instead, I have the perfect answer. We should just switch sides. Better for us. Better for them. If we take time to look around our region – The Asian, Western Pacific Region (which is not at all the ‘Asia-Pacific’ of the Western mindset) – we will see, with some amazement, that most of our regional neighbours (including Japan and South Korea – as ASEAN member countries) have already switched to supporting China – and later, saviour of the world, Russia – rather than the floundering West.

Added after posting: About China. China and Russia come together as a package deal. You want one, you get both. They are now inseparable.

I am not going to say more, having other things to do. I just wanted to get my support for this idea out there again. It is time for change, and this is a change which would benefit Australia, and the world, immensely.

And the alternative – to do nothing – is a route to national death, delineated as a Fascist State, by association with other Western Fascist States.
