Wrong, Mr Vance. Do You Really Believe the World is Challenging Your Nation? They Just Want You to Leave Them Alone, Without Interference.

Yesterday, Vance told Naval Graduates – “Today, we face serious threats in China, Russia, and other nations determined to beat us in every single domain…”. Oh how wrong or misled you are. And you have eyes on becoming US President? Don’t make me laugh. Doesn’t America deserve someone who can think straight?

“China, Russia, and other nations” are not determined to beat you. They just want you to stay out of their business, making life more difficult for them to build a fairer world, than it needs to be. ‘Determined’ is one of their many attributes, but ‘beat’ or ‘beating’ is nowhere found on their agenda. In any case, if it is being ‘beaten’ you are worried about, you have already lost in any ‘domain’ I can think of. So, think again. You are fighting a battle that does not exist. This is not, other than in your mind, a contest. And if it were, how do you think you could ‘contest’ it from somewhere behind the eight-ball? It is good, but really a little late in the game, for you (and apparently your President also) to now have acknowledged something similar to the real position, but it needs still more thought, to arrive at the real conclusion.

You are not in danger from the world Mr Vance. They do not want what you have (at inflated prices), and they do not want to give you what they have at unfair rates either. Some coming together is needed, and a satisfactory solution for both sides to be worked out in all cases, to produce what is best for all.

There is one ‘big’ problem standing in the way of that. You already know what that is, don’t you? It is that ‘America First’ mindset. It needs to go. There is no place for that sort of thinking in today’s world. National sovereignty and fair trading on an equal basis, with no unilateral coercion or interference, are the basics of future trade. It can be done. And it will work, with a little sharing of expertise (not embodied in any single nation) to produce the best conditions for everyone.

There is only one other thing standing in the way of global progress, and that is the top-down global pressure imposed or attempts about to be made to impose global rule on various issues which impinge on national sovereignty through such organisations like the United Nations. I am thinking particularly of the proposed WHO mandatory edicts on health issues. This is a disastrous concept which must not be allowed to gain ground or effect. And may require the abandonment of certain organisations which have assumed global proportions and self-purloined authority, which they should not have.
