According to Shi (Colonel Shi Yi, spokesperson for the theater command), these drills mainly focus on sea-air combat-readiness patrols, joint seizure of comprehensive superiority, assault on maritime and ground targets, and blockade of key areas and sea lanes to test the joint operation capabilities of the troops.

Australia’s ABC News, previously displayed overtly barbed criticism in its reports of Chinese military actions, appears to have tuned down its rhetoric a few notches. Displaying, in this fairly balanced report, only the very mildest of such comments. One wonders why? …

Apart from anything else, this will be perhaps a nerve tonic for the US and West for suppression of their eagerness to start WWIII over Iran in the next three weeks.

Not that such a rash move would get them anywhere but, you know, I hope, where utter stupidity can lead.

You may also know, I hope, that somewhere in Trump’s tiny mind, loiters the thought that he would like it all over with by April 20 – the birthday of Adolf Hitler – and I think it is becoming increasingly known that nazism is the main (under the skin) driving force of US internal deliberations and external support. That has always been the case.

I wonder if there is anything else rattling around in that small but mostly vacant space?

April 20, perhaps not just coincidentally, is also the ultimatum date Trump pronounced for Russia to sign a peace deal with Ukraine.
