Is Australia’s Mood Toward the US Beginning to Change?

Well, colour me rosy! Is there a change in the air? An article today in Australia’s government backed national news rag which, without exception usually produces news items relating to anything involving Russia, and especially when about that nation’s President, containing nothing but lies, smears and sneers, has produced one in which I can detect (Ok, it was a quick read, maybe I missed something) not a single one of those things. That, in itself, is rather amazing, and truly surprising. What happened? Has this just slipped through editorial perusal, or is change in the air.

Of course, the article is pretty much one dimensional, ignoring many important things President Putin said at the International Arctic Forum – held 26-27 March this year in Murmansk – and it also attempts to downplay Russia’s many achievements which place it in top advanced nation position to develop the Arctic region, but even that is done with no trace of sneer.

I wonder if this report is a one-off abnormality, or the beginning of change. I do know that my country’s government is a bit pissed off with Trump’s tariff moves just now, which are set to affect Australia’s trade relations with the US.
