Ukraine is Over – Russia Won, Decisively – But the East-West Struggle is Not Finished – So Where Will Be the Next Battleground?

Has The West Not Been Humiliated Enough Yet?

Why does the West want to continue its program of endless war? Have they not been humiliated enough yet? Well, I think the answer is they must. Its inbuilt, ingrained, part of who they are. So, they must seek to dominate militarily. But, emerging only in the first decades of this century, that is clearly no longer an option for the West. All their weapons have proved either useless or less than useless, and all of them have been tried, and all of them have failed, in the Ukraine conflict. They not only have nothing left to try to recoup some of the lost military prestige, but they do not possess the monetary funds or the time necessary for developing any new ones. That’s quite a dilemma for a sector of humanity devoted to dominance of arms. It was only ever a perceived dominance anyway. Soviet weapons were always at least as good if not better than anything the West ever produced. And Russia has taken that several steps further in the last couple of decades, to now have complete military dominance herself. Worse than that, for the West that is, they have fruitlessly emptied their arsenals in the always doomed support of Ukraine, and now has very little of importance to fight any kind of war with.

The West does have options, like becoming good world citizens, but sadly they can’t use them. And when they realise, as they must now be doing, that they are left with no real options, they resort to dirty tricks – which has become the hallmark, trademark, of what they have polished into a modus operandi. Now their only real one. Bluff and bluster no longer work. Self-delusion is wearing thin. Military precedence completely off the table. So, their new motto sums it up nicely – Dirty Tricks ‘r’ Us – but blowing bridges, dams and pipelines, killing innocent civilians, women and children, assassinating opposition figures, etc., etc., do not get you friends and helpers, or breed weapons, food or success. It’s a one way street to the bottom.

Whether they are in any state to recognise that, of course, is a very different matter. But they surely must have noticed things are not falling their way any more and they are not seeing the same kind of influence as they are used to enjoying.

And so they must find a new plan. A new War Plan. I can tell you it is not going to be in or over The South China Sea. Neither the US nor its puppety puppies are set up for the kind of casualties they would receive in such a conflict, and I doubt they could find another gullible proxy force as their Ukraine stooges, to fight it for them.

So Where Will Be the Next Battleground?

I think the Trump ‘offer’, which I also think may later become a ‘threat’, to take over both Canada and Greenland, are actually pointers in the right direction – however impractical. Except that – nah! – it could never happen. They would lose every ‘friend’ they ever had. And would still be in no better shape to conduct a war over the Arctic. Whether it is thought to happen now, in a few years time or next decade. By that time the multipolar world will be well established, the UN possibly reformed, and the West left somewhere on the outer rim of human culture and society, in spite of the current Trump-Putin fairy-tale Bromance. Which I think is mostly make-believe anyway. Both of them well retired, or gone before then.

However, I do think there will be some attempt, however unrealistic, to make the Arctic region be the next Battleground. However, ‘Battleground’ may not be the most appropriate description. It will be more Trade and Economy focussed than Bullets and Bombs.

Whatever level of enthusiasm Trump may put into the game of Arctic governance and ownership accretion, Russia is most set up and able to dominate that arena, or share it as necessary in a civilised manner with others. Not that there is any recognisable land there in need of protection from Western piracy, other than the already owned Greenland, Canada and Russian territories, plus Iceland, I suppose and a few other scattered islands – all of which, as far as it is known, have already satisfactorily allocated national ownership. There is absolutely no reason whatsoever for any of those lands to change ownership in favour of the most egregious pirates of the US just because they see a capitalist opportunity fast disappearing in their rear-view mirrors. They may consider themselves lucky to have even a presence at the Arctic table of governance as a result of the foolish but necessary sale to them of Alaska, by Russia in a time of need. The perception of a National Security Dilemma eating at the bowels of an increasingly frantic US Pirate Empire, is no such reason for such change. Return to your corner and suck your thumb, US. You dim witted mirror gazers with far too high a self-generated impression of your own importance to the world. A bigger share of the Arctic you are not getting. Unless, of course, you can earn a fair and cooperative share, not of the land, other than the parts you already own, but of the regional development process through peaceful agreement with existing members – as is the case with India and China (see below). And not least because you are ill-equipped to play a major part in that development (see the final section below), but because it is a matter of trust. And you hold very low stocks in that commodity, among the global community.

The Way Things Are, In The Arctic

Take a look at these related articles from the Russian side of things. They point to the proper way to behave and conduct yourselves. It’s called the way of civilised humanity…

The following quote is noted, as part of President Putin’s address to the members of the Forum mentioned above…

“We are committed to working together with all interested partner nations and intergovernmental organizations in this major endeavour” – President Putin.

This is far removed from the ‘Take All, Share Nothing’ approach of Western interests. Can you see that?

Western Unreadiness to Participate in Arctic Development

Yes, it’s true. The West is currently incapable of making any germinal contribution to Arctic Region development. And is certainly insufficiently militarily advantaged to give them any reason to believe they can bully their way to acquire any form of control as to how those projects evolve.

‘Struggle For the Arctic: What Are the Major Regional Powers’ Strategies and Military Capabilities?’ – Sputnik International – March 8, 2025

I did say earlier that the Arctic is unlikely to be a normal Battleground, but one that is more Trade and Economy focussed (and of course, Technology) than on Bullets and Bombs. Unless the West foolishly chooses to take it the other way. Which will be to their ultimate cost and humiliation.

This represents quite a lot of reading, if you choose to undertake the journey. So I will finish here.

Well, I think I have said enough already anyway. Whether anyone reads it or not. The act of self-expression produces its own reward. And that is the only reward I seek.
