Ultimatums – Exactly As I said Yesterday…

Trump, still wet behind the ears, expects Russia to fold, easily…

Meanwhile, Putin, sharpest knife in the block, lays his first ultimatum on Trump – declaring this negotiation process is going to be difficult and may take quite some time. Not a word about folding Russia’s options or accepting anything contrary to their already declared demands…

‘Time running out for Ukrainian troops in Kursk area to lay down arms — Kremlin’ – TASS – March 15, 2025

As I said yesterday, the time for deals is over. It is time for ultimatums, and it is Russia who will be making them. Trump simply has nothing to bargain with.

The first ultimatum has been announced yesterday by President Putin. Stated plainly, Russia considers all Ukraine and associated military captured on Russian territory to be terrorists – not protected by the Geneva Convention – they will either surrender or die. On top of that, to be considered for the surrendered option, they must be militarily ordered to surrender and that order must have come from Kiev. Under those conditions only, their lives will be guaranteed and they will receive decent treatment. No-one else will be spared, no matter their position or nationality.

All ultimatums require a timeframe of operation and according to Dmitry Peskov, Kremlin spokesman, while I cannot recall an actual date being set, that timeframe is rapidly running out.

And, of course, that is only the first backward step. Trump will have many further opportunities to take similar steps out of the shit he and previous administrations have mired his nation in, over the years and decades past. Until Russia is wholly satisfied their original security guarantees have been met in full.

Following this initial outcome, all opposition crumbling, Russian forces will be pouring out from the confined regions of massive Ukraine defensive works into whatever far flung regions of Ukraine they choose to venture in seek of satisfaction for their valid and purposeful goals. The world will discover the foul and disgusting nature of western imperialism underpinned by long venerated, if partially hidden, nazi credo.

Of course, being realistic, there is no guarantee that Trump and other western leaders will willingly retract what conditions they have so freely and gayly imposed under their own self-righteous notions on a previously less powerful global majority, now organising to ensure no such further impositions will be open to a declining west.

And if the west chooses such a path, then, well, the consequences will be upon them. That is something the west seems, at the moment, and even in these late stages of closing options, incapable of understanding. If that is to be the way such choices are certain to lead, so be it.

It is abundantly clear that they can never be trusted to wield the reins of power, unilaterally, ever again.
