No talks of any kind – other than unconditional surrender of Ukraine, and Russia ordained guarantees of security, along the lines of Russian demands of December 2021 will cut the ice on the Ukraine conflict. Which of course includes elimination of Ukraine nazism and militarism completely from that country – if it wants to survive at all, and if that is still possible in its current or future reduced condition.
Any other idea of some sort of resolution is simply ‘pissing into the wind’.
The conflict will, without a doubt, continue until such conditions exist and agreed acceptance reached.
The US, in particular, needs to set its ideas straight on that, and stop using any form of aggressive tone in its communications on the subject. They lost that ‘edge’ somewhere after the turn of the century, and now possess no such advantage. I think they are just beginning to learn that lesson. It is going to be very difficult for them if they can’t accept that, for them, new position.
Of course, Russia is being very polite about the matter, as is their wont. But they are no longer the underdog the US once faced, as back in the ’90s, on global issues.
