Trump is playing King, but in reality is no more than a pre-Fall Humpty Dumpty. Using ultimatums (100 days, or else) on Russia, over the Ukraine issue, is the single most stupid act the would-be King could have dreamed up to harness a ‘deal’ on that insurmountable (to him) issue.
And then he tops off his obvious inadequacy to understand anything much about how to get things done (assuming he actually wants the issue closed), he insults all Russians (whom he ‘loves’ dearly) by twisting history in ascribing a secondary role to their super-human effort to almost single-handedly defeat the forces of Nazi Germany in world war 2. Awarding the lead role to his own, side-swapping, late entry, minimal effort, opportunity seizing, self-elevating, USofA.
Well, of course, why wouldn’t he do that? It’s par for the game to the US. Their mode d’emploi for everything they do – on the backs of exploited other folks. They never learned about war. They talk a lot about it, but not real war. They build a lot of war-materiel, always second rate – because they view the subject, as Kremlin spokesman Peskov recently said, only as business (profiteering). Which explains the fact that they have never won a single conflict, against a near-peer, and few against even sub-peer opponents. Often being driven out of invaded countries once their true value or merit, and even valor, was exposed.
And so, as expected, Russia’s only official response to the challenge made by Trump, has so far been the brief statement made by spokesperson Peskov, referring to the insult and totally ignoring the ultimatum. That’s Round 1 of this tussle to Russia, I think. Eventually, Trump’s folly will be realised, his egg-shell thin aura of confidence shaken, Leading to a fall from his high wall and a state where ‘all the King’s men’ are unable to put him back together again.
There are many other factors which, taken together, lead to such a fall. Not least of those being the Tik-Tok ban in US (reinstated now? too late I think) which has apparently opened up the US, and maybe the world, to the Chinese RedNote social media app. Americans are finally learning the truth about China (and the US) denied to them for so long by an exclusive and contained US narrative. The door has inadvertantly been opened to the freedom of knowledge.
Also, a news item I just found, from Trump’s inauguration speech. He’s going Troppo all right. Watch and hear this. Note: He actually vows an America which “expands our territory” and uses [gasp!] the words “Manifest Destiny”. Invoking a sure case of [“Lions and tigers and bears, oh my!”] total disbelief in his prompter-fed speech.
