Australians Being Prepped to go Wacky Over Climate

Is Climate Change a bigger threat than China? Are either of them even a threat to Australia?

“All the billions of resources being put into confronting China will not help one iota in dealing with the greatest threat to our future security in Australia and the region — and that is climate disruption.” – Admiral Barrie – as quoted by ABC News in “Australian Security Leaders Climate Group calls for overhaul of federal government’s climate threat preparedness strategy” – October 8, 2024

Well, my answer, which covers both original questions is “There is no threat, and therefore no question of ‘sizing’ applies”. China is not a threat to Australia, never has been. Although China does possess the military might to overrun the country in a day or two if the Chinese so chose, and no assistance from our so-called ‘allies’, even if it was forthcoming, could prevent that from happening.

In the other case, Climate Change, or rather the weather systems which daily invade our shores from all sides (nothing to do with climate really), may prove to be a little uncomfortable and disruptive for a while yet but are not unrepresentative of generally normal conditions for this part of the world and therefore does not pose a threat which requires any formal countering. It is just that European settlers and other immigrants from various world regions, have not resided here for much more than a couple hundred years and so have no experience of long-term local conditions. In fact no-one alive today once lived under conditions very different to that which we now experience. This is compounded by our own predilections toward living in close proximity (and larger numbers than ever before) to some of the most weather affected spots on the land. Why do we do that? And why do we not expect to be harassed by frequent floods, fires, storms, and cold snaps?

It is just that the media and various other parties who have an interest in stirring up feeling and agitating for self-profiting action to be taken over what amounts to nothing much at all in both cases. The times are more dangerous than before, simply because of that action, which is designed to have negative effect. I suggest we just get used to conditions as they present themselves, perhaps moving if it proves necessary for personal safety, as this situation is not going to last much longer before we begin to yearn for the warmer days (especially in the south) – disruptive or not.

So where does this leave the renewed push for more action on climate, and also, why are we spending so much effort and expense on countering China, when neither of them represent any form of threat to our previously relaxed, globally remote existence? It is all kind of baffling.

Let’s look at some of the arguments being put forward by a group of former security heads under the name of Australian Security Leaders Climate Group (ASLCG). It is not clear, or even likely, that any of them has any idea what are the drivers or circumstances surrounding climate, either today or in the past.

They speak of “unimaginable new climate extremes confront us,” describing the effects as “record breaking”. Well, sorry my dears, but there is nothing unimaginable about modern weather conditions. These are all well documented and natural effects, and no weather records are being broken here, nothing that hasn’t happened at least in the past. All that is different is that humans have settled into relatively comfortable lifestyles and formed expectations that conditions and the degree of comfort they have learned and accepted, will persist. That is a novel and quite foolish outlook, given the circumstances. We have grown weak, lazy, and fat, over the years. And not just physically. It is in our imaginations only, that the world should adapt to fit our expectations, when reality dictates that it is ourselves only, who must do the adapting. If we want to survive, we had better learn that basic principle, and quickly.

They also warn that Climate Change “is certain to trigger an increasing number of natural disasters of growing scale and intensity which are likely to overwhelm the federal government’s capacity to help communities survive and recover.”. Undoubtedly so. But it is not ‘Climate Change’ which is behind that. This is just the way it is on planet Earth. Get used to it. It has always been this way. And if we don’t toughen up, and adapt to whatever conditions present (not only to the effects of heat, which will soon pass, but also cold like we have never felt before – growing, only not too severely in our lifetimes I think), we will not survive.

There is nothing we can do to prevent changing circumstances. We can only learn to adapt to them. Or alternately, we can move to some place where more favourable conditions remain. Those are our choices. There are no others, if we want to survive. Rest assured there will always be places on the planet where conditions moderately favourable to human habitation, will persist. It has always been that way.

I fully expected this group of ‘security experts’ to mention the tired, old, thought bubbles like ’emissions’ and ‘carbon pollution’ – as though everything hinged on that – and of course they did not fail to do so. Climate change is not effected by ’emissions’, human caused or otherwise, nor by so-called ‘carbon pollution’ (which is nonsense) as I have often said. The atmosphere does not change materially from day to day, or year to year, nor century to century. Carbon Dioxide is an essential gas, part of the content of the air we breathe, and it would make no difference to the climate even if it doubled, tripled, or quadrupled above todays historically low content. Blaming Carbon Emissions, from any source, for weather effects, is absolute nonsense. They only use that kind of ‘scare game’ tactic as a control mechanism for behavioural manipulation of the population.

The ASLCG is just another bunch of control freaks seeking to keep you (and I) under the thumb of a pliable government tasked to do just that. They want your compliance. Don’t do it.

There is nothing to be afraid of, and nothing to take action about, from Climate Change.

Simply move, if you don’t feel safe where you are. But be aware, the world is getting colder, not hotter. It might be wiser to stay put for a while, until things become clearer. We are on a pivot point of natural climate forcing. It is just that no-one knows exactly when it will tip over. but it is close. My estimate is that this is the decade it begins. The temporary (17,000 year) heating surge is about to end, giving way to the more powerful cooling trend, ongoing for many millions of years now. You can take that as Gospel. It’s the Science, and it’s in the data studiously collected by Scientists. Ask them about it, not a bunch of security freaks.
