In an unusually good article, for RT – ‘Western economies in decline – Putin’ – September 26, 2024.
I agree with vision of President Putin and other world leaders. The transformation of BRICS into the leading world economic group is running apace. From a slow start, but founded on correct principles, the idea has caught the attention of many nations. It represents, in fact, the only shining economic light in a world bound up in degraded and rapidly disintegrating forms of colonialism, imperialism and exceptionalism founded as overbearing and destructive ideologies of the past, carried over (but now fading) into the present. Future success of the BRICS drive for change to a fairer system appears inevitable. But is the west capable or even desirous of sharing in whatever world of assured sovereignty and mutual respect and security emerges from this endeavour in years to come? Will the West integrate? Accepting this as the best and most satisfactory option, as equals with all other sovereign nations, they could hope for? Or remain as some fading, dark, shadow economy, brooding over their loss of power in their isolated and decaying state, before a final disappearance of separate western culture?
So many questions face the Western peoples, while the Global Majority gazes with some hope and satisfaction on the potential for a brighter future ahead. A future where they all, as sovereign nations, can be assured of a voice.
And here is a question for everyone. Is the UN capable of reformation to oversee that new world impartially and with no possibility of external influence or pressure from any quarter?
