Russia, respectfully (as is their national character), allows Ukraine a mostly peaceful celebration of their Independence Day. But as I suggested in a recent post, sometime over the weekend the accumulated Russian fury would be unleashed. And today, Monday, unleashed it was. Except it was a calmly acted fury, with no jumping up and down, screaming, flag-waving or banging of saucepans – as the UK has reportedly resorted to recently to raise their spirits. Yet, massive missile, aerial bombing, UAV and artillery strikes were delivered on Sunday across all regions of Ukraine, with destructive effect. Especially to key energy sites, including the Kiev Hydroelectric Power Plant.

F-16s were a No-Show during all this mayhem caused to their supposed protectorate, themselves remaining hidden away from sight. But Russia knew where they were and that place was included in today’s attack. I’m sure we will learn what the results of that attack were in due course. And I doubt it will be insignificant.
And, of course, the unstoppable drive of Russian ground forces westward, carried on unabated. with more than a brigade of Ukrainian casualties and much hardware of war being destroyed today. As it is every day now.

Meanwhile, the push toward a new world order – without western interference – also moves along steadily. It seems that Palestine, whose leader has been invited by Mr Putin to attend the upcoming BRICS 2024 summit in Kazan, will apply for BRICS membership after that meeting. Won’t that be a painful headache for those who support Israel? In fact, and with this I close, Israel has been given less than a year before it collapses (by one of their own). I have often mentioned there will never be a two-state solution for that part of the world. If things play out as they should do and are very likely to do now, there will be only one player still standing in a year’s time. And that will be the rightful owners of the land – Palestine.
We may get a peaceful world sooner than we think.
