I have waited patiently (or not) for around 3 weeks now, to be given a sight of something I knew had to eventually happen. A virtual close-down of Arctic sea ice melt over the past few days. Now, at last, the time warp is here. Those who have followed my scribblings on this subject for (all the way back to the beginning of) this year, will understand my glee.
I feel like getting up to dance…
It’s just a jump to the left ||
And then a step to the ri-i-ight ||
Put your hands on your hips ||
And bring your knees in ti-i-ight ||
But it’s the pelvic thru-ust ||
That really drives you insa-a-a-a-ane ||
Let’s do the time Warp again ||
Let’s do the time Warp again ||
…except that would be a really bad idea at my age.

…and, of course, there is the small matter of about another million Km2 still to melt between now and the end of August. But let’s not spoil the party. I’m now fairly sure it will all work out well.
This year is pretty much over. But then there are six other years in this decade, to prove or disprove my as yet unshakable prognosis for the Arctic.
