What is the Most Important Topic I Could Talk About Today?

What is the Most Important Topic I Could Talk About Today? Well, let’s say it is not the ongoing fighting in Ukraine. As important as that may be to some or the fact that it has a major bearing on the future of all of us (the whole of humanity I mean). But it is bubbling along quite nicely, and the way it needs to do – except for those dogs who still support Ukraine – and I fully expect it to play out exactly as it should and reach a timely end quite soon. Although the repercussions, and the possibilities which open from that, will echo across several generations of humans, producing a much different world than we witness today.

All good, but not, I feel, the most important topic just now – though somehow aligned with it, as most things are.

It is not the ongoing atrocities, fully supported – whether they say as much or not – by western governments, in Palestine (which some, for unknown reasons insist on referring to as ‘Israel’). These are among the most evil and darkest enactments of the minds of man being conducted today. But all that could be easily stopped if the other Semitic nations of the world (mostly Arab, but also including Iran) would get their act together and jointly ‘act together’ to erase Israel from the face of the planet. No-one would miss them for long, and anyway there are plenty of other places they could go – chiefly the same places they emerged from over the past century or so – where they have and had lived, as quiet schemers, but generally peacefully so, for centuries. No religion or cult should be able to claim a ‘Promised Land’ – no matter who or what promised it.

So it is not that. But again that is somehow aligned with what we need to discuss, if I can actually lay my finger on what that is.

How about ‘climate’? That is something which continually raises its grotesquely distorted head a lot these days. No, no, no. I have already expended more than enough time illustrating that this subject is a non-starter. Something we need not care at all about, today, or for as long as you care to think into the future. Everything is proceeding as normal for our planet. Not that we have experienced much of that normality since human civilisation began, having been here (at least as far as our discoveries have so far unearthed) for no more than a brief hop, skip, and jump, back into the planet’s history – just a few million years, and, as a civilisation, for only a few thousand years. And, for goodness sake, the planet is still in recovery after rearranging itself, its land masses and oceans, which ended only recently (again just a few million years ago). A body as big as a planetary sphere does not do anything quickly, and that body is absolutely disinterested in panic attacks or weak attempts to alter its future course by one self-over-rated member of its own local fauna. Forget it, and enjoy your all-too-brief ride here. Your time would be better spent on taking better personal care of your own body, and particularly on what you put into it.

So, what else is there to talk about?

The weather? Yes, well, we could always talk about the weather, and 101 other things. But are they at all important? Really important?

Then science, art, literature, music, culture, food, farming, health, industry, self-defence – and all the other 91 things out of the 101 I mentioned. All are very important to our modern human civilisation. But had you not also noticed? Our modern civilisation is beginning to crumble and will eventually fail, from one or potentially many existing weak points in the current system. What will then be important?

Great efforts are being made to alter and renew the way civilisation works in the future, to make it more secure, more inclusive, less confrontational, less violent. Those things are all important. But are they the whole picture? Yes, they may eliminate the things we engage in and suffer from as a result today, and they will foster and allow different cultures and beliefs to co-exist, possibly even harmoniously, and hopefully without the need to suffer subjugation of one by another, at any level. And yes, they will remove the old patterns of duality such as East and West, Left and Right. Perhaps even Rich and Poor. But it will, I think need to be much more than that to satisfy the restless urges of an inquisitive and resourceful human nature to grow and expand their thirst and longing for adventure and knowledge and some of the higher aspects of human desire. A need for self realisation, self-fulfillment. The exciting aspect of this new world view is that it may provide the kind of firm and reliable basis for actions to enable all such needs to be fostered, nurtured, and fulfilled. I am even coming to terms with the possibility that such a regenerated and harmonious human race may be considered a potential asset to expand beyond the limits of our own planetary sphere.

And all of that, taken together, will be so different, and so far above the current possibilities, as compared to the world we live in today.

Let’s make it happen. Leave behind all the grasping for more, all the petty battles for supremacy, all the futile expenditure on things that are about to become obsolete, all the waste, all the greed.

Is that even possible? Without losing everything that has meaning in the destruction and rebuilding which will ensue before a new age dawns. Because, mark my words, nothing good can happen until that is first endured. The time for patching up the current system is over.

We must work for the future. It will come.

And there is no part in it for supremacists of any kind.
