I wrote in my previous post of the active and vital aspects of ‘The Global Majority’, growing now, and unfailingly, to be the only survivable component of humanity in a changed future.
I featured in that post, a brief round-up of the latest developments being undertaken by that plucky group, led by ‘The Three Amigos’ of Russia, China, and Iran with their BRICS partners of Brasil and South Africa and a band of very serious but ‘Merry Men (and Women)’ of the newly awakened and emerging nations – actually it’s a group of 5 + (5 – 1), + goodness knows how many more by the end of this year, and a list of around 80 more interested nations lining up to join in subsequent years.
All seems to be going very well for this group, after the recent vibrant ‘show-time’ in St Petersburg, which masqueraded the heavy scenes of very serious discussions, agreements and plans going on behind the scenes, reported to the world at large, but I’m sure quite misunderstood in many places. Russia was, incidentally, recently announced by the World Bank as being the 4th largest economy in the world (overtaking Japan) – and 2 out of 3 of the leading places are also BRICS member nations (China, India).
I suggested a ‘contrast’ with the ‘Collective West’. Well, here is the contrast, in the first Kunstler post I have felt I could share in a long, long, time. This is quite masterful, and more the ‘Jim’ I used to like…
