The End of Trust in the West – A New Beginning

A major failing of Russia in the past has been the trust placed in agreements or statements, documented or voiced by the west. And by the west, of course, is meant any nation or representative of any nation described as being ‘western’ or having any connections with western thought or dominion.

Nothing, in today’s world, either in word or deed and emanating from the west, is worthy of trust. Basically, that has never changed throughout western history. A more scheming, conniving, intrinsically crooked and deceptive set of people there has never been on the face of the planet. That is not just one culture of course. It is all of them. And by the processes of intermingling, cohorting, in-fighting, robbery, subjugation, separation and migration, these traits have only grown into the downright evil culture of deception, subjugation, and exceptionalist debauchery wherever they are found today.

The west cannot be trusted anywhere in the world. There is no place in the world they have not attempted to conquer, abuse and corrupt – solely for their own, is it amusement, or benefit, or both?

For Russia this situation no longer exists. Russia now has a zero trust level for all interactions with the west. Being an honest nation, possessing a trusting nature, it has taken a long time, and many bitter experiences, for Russia to reach this point. But it is now an unshakable, and possibly irreversible, axiom for Russia.

‘Russia was inclined to trust till last, but no longer trusts anyone in the West — Lavrov’ – TASS – March 25, 2024

This makes it difficult for any western need to approach Russia to even discuss or negotiate on any matter of international scope and, as there is a growing need for western nations to seek Russian cooperation or assistance in any number of areas of modern life, this becomes something of a conundrum. With a growing of the importance, influence and capacity of Russia on the international scene, a whole range of impasses are bound to accumulate over time. For those many nations who already are in alignment with and possess the trust of Russia, this is not a problem of course. It is, and will more so become, a huge problem for those dispossessed of such trust and which are opposed or unaligned with Russia’s growing role in world affairs. A huge problem.

But how are those problems to be overcome if there is no trust?

Earlier, Lavrov stressed that there would no longer be relations in the previous format between Russia and Western countries, and Moscow would not allow the West to tell it any lies when signing international documents.

Russia ready to talk with West only if its interests taken into account — Lavrov – TASS – March 24, 2024

The answer is, there can be no such negotiations, no agreements made with the west. None, at all. Because how is it to be determined that there are no lies being included, in a situation where there is no trust? There is no way. Except, and only, if there is complete capitulation by the west, which is a surrendering of sovereignty, allowing Russia to dictate the terms of any agreement with the west and, in the current case of the Ukraine/NATO conflict against Russia, of denying the right to maintain any military or weapons with which to support or defend any subsequent infringement. I need make no allowance for any other possibility of outcome. The only other exception being all-out nuclear war, to which I give little credence since it now weighs heavily in Russia’s favour.

This is the hole the west has dug itself into.

And this is also why the west, can never give up its sovereignty other than through an utter defeat of its military capability. It naturally follows that Russia’s Special Military Operation can never end, other than by the complete conquering and annihilation of all western military capabilities, the result of which could take the currently activated Russian SVO (SMO) all the way to the Atlantic and other shores of Europe. I am not sure that even Russia has come to grips with such a possibility as being a necessity for them to engage in. Russia does not need, I think, to take a step further than the boundaries of Europe. However, I am not sure – that is I have heard nothing to give me such assurance – that they have properly considered such a need. I do not doubt Russia’s capability to carry out such an extension of their current task, although they must surely have considered western intransigence on absolutely everything and the distinct possibility of the west, specifically the US, not capitulating when Russia reaches the Ukraine western border regions. Of course, if it came to such a prolonged possibility, European nations could each and individually capitulate to Russia’s terms, leaving only the USA/Canada/Australia and UK – all of which can easily be taken out with the long reach of Russia’s very advanced (and at the current point in time, singularly so) nuclear arsenal. That could be achieved by a single all-in attack (with more than adequate reserves and defensive weapons to deal with and respond to a counter-strike), or alternatively by progressive roll-out to erase specific targets until a surrender is flagged. Though why they would even bother taking out Australia (I’m Australian), except perhaps one on Canberra – which would benefit Australia immensely. The west has nothing similar or with which to effectively counter that.

I remain convinced, due to the state of the US nuclear arsenal and the general condition of its remaining military capability, there is nothing the west can do to prevent an ultimate Russian victory in this contest. And the west would have no better opportunity than to bring an early end to their centuries old reign of terror, retaining at least something of their culture – such as it is – than by waving the white flag as soon as possible.

Trust, when lost, and the west has no concept of this – yet – is somewhere between difficult and impossible to regain.

We are entering a whole new world of international changes ongoing this decade and arising chiefly from the inseparably close and growing ties between Russia and China. This is generally known as ‘Multipolarity’. It replaces the single pole variety which for far too long has been based on US superiority. That case, in case it has not yet been noticed, no longer persists. It grows weaker day by day and will never be allowed to recur.

Multipolarity, of course, is also not totally secure. In fact it could be far worse than a single dominant western pole. This is why the wise heads of both Russia and China are taking the precaution of bringing along, as sovereign co-equals, as many other nations as wish to participate in this new inclusive world for the mutual benefit of all. It is a young enterprise as yet. Not fully fledged, but rapidly growing. A great many nations have signalled they wish to take part in it – even some who are currently under the thumb of the declining unipolar empire. This is an exciting time to be alive. There has been nothing similar in earlier ages.

You may ask, ‘what about the post-war United Nations system?’. That was never about national sovereignty, or at least not in practice. It is, and always was, set up to cement the dominance of the western nations. For this reason, the UN system of international law has never been allowed to operate fairly, and is now almost totally ignored by western nations who operate within (sometimes) their own Rules Based Order. These are their rules – which benefit only themselves – and are alterable or able to be ignored depending on the circumstances. We have seen that in operation for at least the past 50 years.

No. The Rules Based Order can never be allowed to operate, either officially or unofficially. This is why independent nations are now following the Russia, China, and other related organisations, like BRICS, SCO, EAEU, to build and take part in a new, just, and fairer world, built largely around the tenets of International Law as laid down in the UN Charter. The UN itself, if it can be saved from western dominion, will remain. If it can’t, it will be replaced.

Doesn’t all this excite you? Watching it all unfold, for me, is a reason to live. I hope it is, or becomes that, for you too.
