Every day I come across new and unbiased references which view the Earth’s natural climate change the way I do. Everybody likes to be valued. And there is no greater value than having your own views and opinions backed up by the knowledge and opinions of others. It is somehow quite reassuring. No-one likes to be on the losing side of an argument, which is where the many deluded folk who believe the story of the human origins of what is portrayed as catastrophic climate activity, with all the guilt and despair that hangs on that. Such as a perceived need to buy electric powered vehicles, invest in so-called (but actually the opposite of) ‘green energy’, recycling of waste, and a variety of other ill-considered ideas. It is all unnecessary and even more harmful in many ways than that which it purports to replace. Worst of all, it weakens the mind and the will, and leads to conformity – much to authoritarian delight. Conformists are easy to control. Now, if there was any substance behind all that wasted effort and self-shaming, it may not be so bad. But there is no substance to those ideas. They were dreamed up in think-tanks, for specific purposes. And the conformists would not like it one bit to know what those purposes may be. They are not for the good of humanity.
So, here I am again, with yet another sane and clear thinking incidence of good climate thinking from a respected expert in the field – Dr. Judith Curry, climatologist.
CO2 is our friend. CO2 is a friend to the whole planet. We must not endanger either ourselves or the planet by trying to reduce the amount of CO2 available to Earth’s natural climate mechanisms. The planet, in recent times, and this has been a long, long decline to the desertified and CO2 parched planet we reside on today as a part of the natural world, which is in a bad way healthwise, as a direct result of that decline in CO2 over millions of years, is actually turning things around itself by increasing the levels of CO2 in the atmosphere.
I have actually entertained the idea – a kind of metaphysical notion – that humanity was quickened as a new species on the planet (by whatever means – perhaps even through an alien ‘god’ species, pre-historically written into our ancient history) purely to mature at just the right time to save Earth from irremedial decline as a result of CO2 starvation, by, you guessed it, providing a new source of atmospheric CO2 resulting from our crazed and misguided modern activity. Not that the planet actually needs our help. CO2 is gradually increasing quite naturally – and we are not the major contributor to that phenomena, even if we would like to think we are. Moreover, and I really love this thought, all the crazy human activity to ‘fight’ climate change by reducing CO2 for decades now has actually achieved nothing – zip, zilch, sweet FA, diddly squat, nought and nothing of any value. Thank goodness for that. Every year since we began this folly, atmospheric CO2 has continued to grow, not diminish. Even taking into account the false accounting of carbon remediation. Again I say, thank goodness for that.
It would be best if we laid down our tools of modern life and began to live simply, allowing nature to continue its own rebalancing path unfettered by human folly. Though I think we have proven now that our efforts, even today, are grossly ineffective against the might of planetary nature.
