OK, So There Is A Beautiful Young Woman Involved. It’s A Good Story Even Without That Added Attraction…

…and it is a story of extreme importance and global interest, I think. Take note.

I don’t need to say much here. It is pretty much self-explanatory through its own narrative (which may be a CRUX exclusive).

‘Moldova To Arrest Pro-Russia Governor After Putin Meeting, Aide Says As Chisinau Cements France Ties’ – CRUX – 3 days ago (that would be March 9-10, 2024)

Firstly, I don’t know anything about CRUX YouTube channel, but a quick scan tells me it may be a useful new news source (for my purposes, at least), but I need to investigate further. This story, at least, I can endorse.

So, what can you and I take from the story?

There is no doubt that Gagauzia – home of the beautiful young woman I mentioned and to which she was recently elected to governorship, holds, and uniquely holds (together with Transdniestria [correct spelling – I trust Britannica more than most dictionary sources]) a most interesting geo-political position of far greater importance than either of their physical size or population may indicate in today’s turbulent world. Both Gagauzia as an autonomous territory of Moldova and Transdniestria as a breakaway unit of that country (and under the protection of a Russian military garrison), are seeking help from Russia to ensure their independence. The newly elected Gagauzian Governor – let’s name her – Yevgenia Gutsul, recently attended the World Youth Festival near the Black Sea coast of Russia (as did, though not widely published, a considerable contingent of Ukrainian youth representatives), where she met with President Putin on the sidelines to request his assistance for her region. Transdniestria has also recently requested further assistance from Russia. This is a most interesting situation with a host of possible avenues of geo-political and associated other activity likely to unfurl their leaves and bloom, in time. I don’t have time to get into that here, but the implications are obvious. It is virtually the same situation as occurred when the Donbass regions asked for Russian help several years ago and with the possibly under-stated aim of Russia to liberate the Odessa Oblast (among others), we may yet see another phase of the Russian SMO taking shape before too long. There is one big difference in this case, Gagauzia does not contain a large number of Russians. They are mostly Turkic people. Not that such matters should make a difference when people ask for help. It is my personal belief that Russian intervention is somehow inevitable alongside the Transdniestria need, and all is fully within Russian capabilities of achievement. They are saying they do not necessarily need a land-bridge with Hungary but I believe that will also be something we soon witness as further Russian gains unfold. I have even entertained notions of Romania turning at some point when their land also borders the conflict zone. Or it may even just be a zone of border related re-adjustment by that stage. The Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) would no doubt welcome new partner states at some future point. Not to mention BRICS – or to whatever it is eventually and I think will necessarily, be renamed.

Hey, I think I have said enough. Let’s leave it at that. This is not going to go away any time soon. Some developments, once a movement is moving, occur naturally.
