Read this TASS report to see what I mean. It seems fairly obvious.
‘Pentagon sees Russia, China deploying capabilities that can target GPS’ – TASS – January 11, 2023
Basically it is this. With the long established GPS and having Elon’s Starlink more or less on their ‘team’, plus whatever else they may have of a purely military nature floating around, they think they have some undefined advantage over Russia-China-et-al in the field of space technology. In fact they don’t even consider the ‘et-al’ as being in the game. All of that may have been true a few years ago, but no longer. And especially on a quantity/coverage basis or an accuracy basis (as far as I can tell).
But the craziest part of this is their curved ball thinking. Those balls running through wildly meandering tubes passing, in a two-way flow between their brains and their arseholes (or, they’re arseholes – it reads correctly either way). The thinking is, that it is perfectly Ok for them to use their GPS for both civilian and military purposes. Never a thought passes that, by doing so, they render their prized GPS to be a legitimate military target for those nations who have declared independence from western influence – no matter what chaos that may cause to the US’ own or other civilian populations wholly dependent on it (and there are still many) should that facility suddenly disappear.
“What an outrage!” their only thought, “We must make these upstarts pay and suffer retribution for their actions”.
I doubt the US would ever – ‘will ever’, in fact – see it any other way.
But how are they going to make their potential despoilers suffer? With what magical weapon? Economic sanctions? Ha-ha-ha-haaa! What a joke! But when it all boils down, that is the only thing in their arsenal left to use. They can’t go the nuclear option. They would end up a smoking hole, while the rest of the world throws a party.
“Their Navy” you say? Don’t make me laugh. That is delusional. The bluff that is the US Navy (it may not have been a bluff several decades ago, but take a good hard look at the facts now) has been called – and found to be both toothless and defenceless. Even Yemen’s Houthi rebels are not afraid of them, just waiting a good opportunity to make their presence felt. It matters little what the Navy Chief of Operations says on the subject (she needs to obtain some credentials first) – this from Mr Martyanov.
Full Disclosure: I have no credentials for making these statements either, other than almost 79 years of full-time study of life, the reasons behind it, and the effects that has on the denizens of planet Earth – or the other way around. I’m still a student of course, and one day I will graduate.
“Their Army then” you say? What Army? They haven’t got one. What they have is a bunch of patrols, widely scattered across the world – which are in fact irretrievable for forming into some sort of fighting force at the risk of losing every outpost they have illegally set up. And manned, if that’s the right word for it, by young, sickly, inexperienced nerds, shepherded by old men …and with little hope of getting replaced any time soon. Recruitment difficulties are understandable, leaving them with the fewest number of US soldiers since 1940. Another joke.
“Their Air Force then” you say? Yes, well, that is a formidable force to reckon with, but you can’t win wars with air power alone, and in any case I think Russia-China have that – as yet untested in real combat, very costly, and unreliably airworthy – force, more than covered, both by their own advanced Air Forces and their far superior Air Defense forces. The only advantage I can see the US possessing is that of numbers. But does that really count when all factors are considered?
“Their superior advanced weapons then” you say? You are not serious, surely? Their most advanced weapons are all burning and littering the fields of Ukraine. Where have you been the last couple of years? Oh, “Hiding behind western media” you say …I see, I see.
