“In short, the Russians are not only winning this war in an impressively decisive fashion, but they will emerge from it as the single most formidable and battle-hardened military force on the planet.”
That is a quote from the latest article, at time of writing, from the imetatronink blog of William Schryver.
Schryver is on a roll in the least few weeks, producing a number of interesting articles of relevance to today’s world. None more so than this fine summary of the status, reasons, cause and repercussions of the conflict in eastern Europe raging over the past two calendar years, crippling western military capability – which was never much more than fluff and bluff – but just enough to see them reign as an unchallenged bully for around 70 years – and the emergence of a much more powerful alternative loose alliance of major advanced powers which are now supported by a majority of global nations.
Popularly referred to as the Ukraine war it is neither a war (it has not been declared as such by any participating nation) nor ostensibly about nor situated on the land of Ukraine. Before firing a single shot in what it classifies as a Special Military Operation, Russia made sure the land its soldiers would be operating on had already become Russian territory – by will of the local population through legally organised referenda. Thus ensuring that Russia is not the invading nation. Ukraine is the invader, impinging on Russian territory. A fact few have yet to realise.
