I don’t have much time as I put the finishing touches to my latest words on climate issues, so I will cut to the chase with the insightful quote below from the latest Simplicius article. While many are looking for a possibly imminent large-scale Russian offensive to finish off a now very weakened Ukraine military, bereft of friends, supporters, and any real hope of sufficient resupply to continue fighting (and dying) for more than a few more weeks, I agree with Simplicius’ assessment that such an offensive is both unnecessary and in all likelihood will not happen. Russia can comfortably continue the massive build up its forces – already several times stronger than Ukraine can muster – and simply wait out the inevitable collapse of Ukraine military by the end of the current year. Continuing, of course, to pound those forces and any remaining Ukraine infrastructure into the ground in the meantime.
The point is that Russia will continue accumulating this gigantic ground army while its industries work to actually supply them with required armor and armaments. This can still take all of 2024 to do in sufficient quantities. While Russia is churning out tanks, artillery, arms, etc., for this massively increasing army all throughout 2024, its Recon-Fire-Complex and Recon-Strike-Complexes will be working on grinding down the Ukrainian army, infrastructure, etc., to a bare minimum, just pulverizing them into dust. They can do this leisurely all throughout 2024 without needing to worry about anything, especially if funding truly does dry up.

The entire Simplicius article is well worth the time spent reading it.
I have said in previous posts that this is now over and, to any thinking person who follows the real news at all closely, that has long been obvious. The mopping up and the eventual resolution and fall-out from the affair will take up most or all of the next year. We are now simply watching this always unnecessary conflict play out as it always necessarily would. All of that is dependent, of course, on the willingness/capability of western nations to agree to stay out or interfere in the process. There are some who are just stupid or arrogant enough to attempt to further interfere. That will be to their own ultimate cost.
