When I am not giving my own view on the world – and I must admit I do like doing that, it’s kind of therapeutic, whether anyone else agrees or not – I also like to present the very best of respected other people’s views. There are always a great many articles I could choose to share and if you look back in my earlier posts you will see some of the respected authors whose work I generally have no qualms in featuring. Many of those available articles however, are narrowly focused and, while of great interest, that interest is tied to a particular and passing moment in time. So, I am particularly excited by articles which are obviously relevant and current, but which also rise above that to paint on a broader canvas.
Pepe Escobar is expert in pulling together strings of narrow focus from past and present and weaving them into the broader landscape we need for comprehensive understanding of the major movements of the time. In that spirit I bring you, with my highest recommendations, Pepe’s recent article…
‘No respite for France as a ‘New Africa’ rises’ – by Pepe Escobar, on The Cradle – September 1, 2023
