RFK Jr Is NOT The Answer To Any Question You May Be Asking

‘Chris Hedges: Robert F. Kennedy Jr. – The Israel Lobby’s Useful Idiot’ – Chris Hedges – Sheerpost – August 13, 2023

I don’t have much time for Chris Hedges, usually skipping over any piece of writing with his name as author, since I found previous writings either boring or irrelevant. You don’t need to keep going back to the same coffee shop for refills if you didn’t particularly enjoy the first one they sold you. But the title of this piece caught my eye. Particularly because I also share the view that the current hype over the most recent Kennedy to catch the headlines for his desirability as a potential US leader, is somewhat misplaced. And while less disastrous than the current choice occupying that position and only approximately equivalent to the previously deposed incumbent (in the potentiality to do anything useful), Kennedy is not someone who could be expected to divert the nation from its upcoming appointment with the ‘Glorious Dumpster of Irrelevancy’ to the modern world.

Kennedy’s support for the Israeli lobby or, in fact, anything to do with that grubby and distasteful nation – full of hate for everyone except themselves (Ah! I just realised that is at least partly why the US loves them so much) – is not his major sin. Neither is his overt hate for Russia. What primarily keeps him high in the ranks of the useful idiots who may become the next US leader is his ingrained attitude and devotion to the ‘America First’ concept. The world hates that. The world has had enough of that. And the world, with my wholehearted support I should add, intends to put an end to that – one way or another.

[I should say here that I do not have an opinion on the Israel/Palestine issue. Israel is a monster created by the UK and sustained by the US (since the UK is now a non-entity), but there are really no ‘innocents’ in the story. Although my sympathies, if there are any, rest with the Palestinian people. One day, I think, Israel will be destroyed but, until then, the whole area will remain a cesspool of violence and suffering. And a blight on the reputation of the western nations which maintain the status quo for their own selfish reasons.]

So, the citizens of the US (I, as has become my wont, refuse to call them ‘Americans’, due to their subversion of that descriptor as exclusively belonging to themselves) would be better served by looking for another choice of leader, more acceptable to the world at large. Simply because they have a lot of bridges to rebuild and perhaps a whole lot of restitution to make if they want to have any part to play in the emerging multi-polar world, all accompanied by large doses of humility.

I needed to dig deep into that quite long article before I even came across the Kennedy name but, in the ensuing paragraphs, Hedges works him over quite ferociously but not unfairly I think. Having now read most of that, I guess I could add a few more examples to why I think RFK Jr is not quite the man of the hour for the US that he is being built up to be. But I have already said enough, I think, on the subject – for now.
