Medvedev’s Important 2022 Summary

I missed this on December 26 (while also trying to avoid all unnecessary seasonal guff) but found it today in the pages of the Titanic Lifeboat Academy (they rarely miss anything important). Dmitry Medvedev has become a changed man (at least in my own humble estimation) since his appointment as Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council – which I originally viewed as perhaps being some sort of demotion from Prime Minister status, but the move appears to have freed the man to speak his views more openly than perhaps ever before. And strong views, and more strongly worded than might have been expected, they are. It is a refreshing and welcome change. A fearless and outspoken Russian tiger has emerged, while retaining a clear-eyed and level-headed attitude [is a future play for once again becoming ‘President’ lurking somewhere at back of Medvedev’s mind? There is, however, a lot of useful life left in the ‘old’ tiger yet. Long may he continue.].

The Medvedev article…

“Our People, our Land, our Truth” – Titanic Lifeboat Academy – 26 December 2022.

Because this delicious and timely Medvedev article is a long read, I am not going to say anything more about it, other than “reading it is time well spent, and understanding the content will be almost a basic necessity of life in 2023”. The video bookends, above and below, are mere gloss to that central reason for this post. They are appropriate, but incidental to the theme. Enjoy them anyway, if you can.

Here is a link to the original Medvedev article on Rossiyskaya Gazeta in case of difficulties. If you have a decent browser (such as Yandex) it will automatically translate for you –
