EU Sovereignty Externally Represented By US

The European Union is not a little disgruntled by superficially being left out of the coming meeting on security guarantees demanded by Russia. There is no basis in reality for this claim. The EU long ago sold out its sovereignty – to the US – which can now authoritatively represent the union in any external talks with anyone on such matters with anyone. Both Russia and the US very well know what the true position is on this. End of story.

Well, not quite the end. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman, Maria Zakharova, has this and much more to legitimately say on the subject…
