That is a quote from an article I just read, giving a reasonable description of exactly that subject. I want to repeat that article here – there is a link below if you want to check its authenticity or to learn more – because I think it an important message for at least every Westerner to hear. Many of us now believe we have been conned from way-back by that small faction of our population which has governmental power over us that is jokingly called ‘democracy’. In reality (take a look at your jail system) we are the least ‘free’ people in the whole world. And we have been lured into thinking just the opposite of that. The analogy of ‘sheep’ has often been used to describe our apparent willingness to accept these things. Well, I for one want to know why that is and how to learn what the truth of all these matters actually is.
I believe I do know what that truth is, but it is hard to find a voice that could be accepted as authoritative enough to back up those claims. I think I have at last found one and while I don’t agree with everything they say – for instance on the climate change thing – I want you to have the chance (if you haven’t already) to see what they say for yourself. This may be your opportunity.
The web identity of the organisation which publishes this information is called The Survivor’s Guide to Earth. It is American and therefore does not enjoy my full trust at this stage but, from what I have read of their output, I can agree with most of it. I am not at this stage a paying member but do have free open access to their feature articles, of which the one I share below is an example, and also to what they call their ‘Boycott List’ of entities to avoid. You can have the same choice.
The article is below. I am printing it in full because, well, it is ‘Open Access’ and you can follow the link to see if this may become something in which you can share or make one of the sources of good information for life, and survival, in a rapidly changing world
The Origin of the War on Islam – The Survivor’s Guide to Earth

FEATURE ARTICLE / EXPLAINER
The Most Important Fact We Must Know
The first and most important thing we need to understand is that there has not been a longstanding holy war in the holy land that’s lasted thousands of years.
This is ridiculous and a total distortion of reality.
What is true is that the same ruling classes that time and again claim their purpose is to save civilization from radical extremism have, for a thousand years, created, funded, armed, and protected the most extremist movements on earth.
Extremist movements are not the enemy of the permanent war machine. They are its primary asset, excuse and boogeyman.
This is critical information for all citizens of the world to know, particularly in European nations, and their colonies.
The first crusade
Like the reform movement attributed to Moses, who would have called his teaching the religion of Israel, which later developed into what we now call Judaism, and later branched off into Christianity — Islam also began as a reform movement 1,400 years ago.
These are all branches within the single tradition of what we call Abraham, a word which is a metaphor as much as it is a name.
The message of the Islamic reform movement was simple. Revolutionary at its time. And also originalist.
At the beginning, this movement was also a human rights movement… One that gave women the right to own property, to divorce and for the first time, to inherit.
These are rights denied that will continue to be denied to European women for another thousand years.
Some of the most significant early scholars and teachers of early Islam are women. This is not unique to Islam either.
That was also true for the early budding branches we now call Christianity, Judaism. Women held positions of leadership, scholarship, and spiritual authority. But movements for the persecuted are often co-opted by the persecutors. As we will soon see.
As the Islamic movement spread, Jews and Christians held protected status. Conversion was not required. And there was no incentive for conversions, because the state taxed non-Muslims more than Muslims.
Nevertheless Islam expanded. But religious freedom remains central. When the Caliph Umar entered Jerusalem 1,390 years ago, he refused to pray inside the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, to respect the Christian community.
The Jewish population, expelled centuries earlier by Rome and then the Catholic empire, was invited back under Muslim rulers.
But nearly five hundred years of relative peace (compared to Europe) in the “Holy Land” was destroyed when Pope Urban II gave a speech in northern France.
The First Crusade, launched in 1096, about 900 years ago, did not begin as a response to threats from Muslims.
It was a political instrument.
The Catholic Church had spent the previous decades locked in a power struggle with European kings. The papacy was losing.
An external enemy solved everything. It redirected domestic unrest outward. It unified warring European nobles under Rome’s authority.
The Catholic Church officials used tactics you will recognize today. Atrocity propaganda. Exaggerated claims about Christians being attacked and persecuted.
The Pope had enormous power. He could promise a full remission of sins to anyone who fought. This was the first “papal indulgence.” And from there evolved the cash-for-forgiveness market. A snake oil con that lasted for hundreds of years.
And it established the Vatican as the continent’s supreme political power for centuries.
Within 4 years the crusaders invaded Jerusalem. On the way, they massacred the Jewish populations of the Rhineland. When they reached Jerusalem, they massacred Jewish and Muslim residents together. But their conquest of Jerusalem failed to hold.
For 200 years the crusades kept going.
The Catholics slaughtered tens of thousands of Christians in France, forced conversions in the Baltics, sold people into slavery, sacked Constantinople, the Christian capital of the Eastern Roman Empire, and looted it for the Venetian creditors.
This was pure military conquest. Desecrating religion as cover. This is the same game plan that’s been running for a thousand years.
The game plan is still running today.
Every time an Islamic-majority country has tried to build something sovereign, stable, and independent, it has been attacked, overthrown, or replaced with something that creates permanent war.
In 1953, the CIA and MI6 overthrew Iran’s elected secular prime minister for nationalizing his country’s oil. They installed the Shah, a monarch whose brutality produced the 1979 revolution and the theocracy the West now uses as its arch-villain.
In 1979, the US began covertly arming the most extreme Islamist fighters in Afghanistan to topple a pro-Soviet government. They knew the resulting civil war would bleed Moscow — becoming it’s Vietnam war.
The CIA funneled $3 billion into the operation. They printed schoolbooks for Afghan children with pictures of weapons for solving math problems.
Reagan hosted the commanders at the White House and compared them to Freedom Fighters, a reference to America’s Founding Fathers.
The graduates of that program: Al-Qaeda and the Taliban.
For four decades the US, UK, and European establishment have protected the rulers of Saudi Arabia in exchange for pricing the world’s oil in US dollars — the arrangement that keeps the dollar as the global reserve currency.
Think about the name “Saudi Arabia” for a moment. That’s like calling America, “Trump’s America.” That is what the name sounds like to many Arabs.
The House of Saud, the ruling family of Saudi Arabia, has spent at least $100 billion of that oil revenue exporting Wahhabism (a 200-year-old fundamentalist movement) to mosques and schools across the planet. Extremism, funded by Western consumers at the pump. That’s our return on investment.
In the 1970s and 80s, the Israeli military government in Gaza funded the Palestinian resistance movement.
From 2012 to 2018, Netanyahu’s government authorised Qatari cash, roughly $30 million a month at peak, flown into Gaza in suitcases and handed to Hamas.
Meanwhile Israel has consistently blockaded, ethnically cleansed, and imprisoned the Palestinian population. Peaceful protesters have been arrested, killed, and tortured. The resulting blowback causes more war, more excuses for expansion and conquest.
The same playbook has been used across Syria, Lebanon, and Yemen — with the same results.
In every case, the real target has never been radical Islam.
The real target is any independent, modern, sovereign Muslim state that could pool its resources, price its oil in its own currency, refuse Western dictates, and stand as a model.
Every time such a state has emerged, it has been attacked, invaded, or co-opted. Whatever radical force fills the vacuum is then tolerated, armed, rebranded, or installed directly. The chaos becomes the justification for the next intervention.
The target of the propaganda campaign is you.
The people who paid for this were taxpayers in the US, UK, and Europe — whose schools, hospitals, and housing have been starved for decades.
The Costs of War project at Brown University puts the bill for the post-2001 wars at roughly $8 trillion and the direct death toll at over 940,000, overwhelmingly civilian, overwhelmingly Muslim.
That $8 trillion didn’t disappear. It moved through the Pentagon into the accounts of a small circle of arms manufacturers, contractors, and political donors.
The reality is there is no western versus eastern civilization.
The Islamic movement to a great degree invented modernity. The numerals on your phone are Arabic. Algebra is Arabic. The research hospital, the astrolabe, the scientific method itself, the lateen sail that made transatlantic voyages possible, all reached Europe through the Muslim world.
The works of Aristotle survived the European dark ages because Muslim scholars preserved them. The Renaissance was not a recovery of something Europe had. It was a transfusion from the civilisation Europe had spent two centuries crusading against.
For nearly 600 years, Christians, Jews, and Muslims governed themselves side by side under the Ottomans. Until European capital, European nationalism, and European war tore it apart — not to liberate anyone, but to ransack the resources and cripple any competition.
A thousand years ago, the Catholic Church faced a political crisis and invented a holy war against “the east.” Every ruling class since has replicated the template: divide et impera. Divide and rule.
That’s why we are saying: The war on Islam is a war on all of us.
