As 2020 draws to a close, leaving the world in a very unsettled state, with little of any value to show for itself, and little to offer of future prospects, we need something to give us hope. Something to grasp and cling to, as we look to dark days ahead. Is there such a thing?

China has announced to lift all rural residents living below the current poverty line out of poverty by 2020.

Official data show, China has lifted over 800 million people out of poverty over the past several decades, representing 70%+ of global poverty reduction.
