“Russians celebrate Victory Day amid pandemic” – TASS

Russians yesterday celebrated Victory Day, the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War (World War 2), but not in the usual way – due to coronavirus restrictions in force.
Nothing can yet be guaranteed about the future. Our world faces difficult times in the days ahead, but I hope the Immortal Regiment along with all Russian peope will be able to celebrate their great achievement in defeating the German Nazi regime 75 years ago, again in the normal way across Red Square, Moscow, without fear of enemies visible or invisible.
I thank and salute you, Russia, for the great sacrifices you made in the years leading up to the beginning of my own life a month or two before that great victory took place, and for what you have done since those times to ensure the existence of a free world for me and my descendents.
